Push to restore veterans' benefits may lack support

I have advise the next fighting generation in my Family not to serve since the government appears to be breaking promises to my generation. First they went after our Cola, now they are going after our Tricare benefits.

We predicted this would happen back in December:

1. They would ram through the pension cuts to military, retired military, widows, and VA rated disabled military, but claim they would "fix it" later

2. Once the cuts were in place, they would claim it was "too hard" to remove them, and both parties would blame one another

3. The lowly military member and retiree would be used (again) as political pawns by both Republicans and Democrats, as they would both introduce legislation to sling mud at one another, while doing nothing to rectify the betrayal to the military

4. Hagel, Obama, Ryan, Reid, and Boehner figured that after the passage of just a bit of time, the military, veterans, and the public outrage would diminish, and the abused military heroes would be force to "accept" the abuse. Then these cuts could be used to justify even further cuts to VA disabled, retirement, and TRICARE

We must remember that even though our own government has acted as Judas, all brothers and sisters who have served remain brothers and sisters in arms....always. They cannot take that away.

Our current government: House, Senate, and President despise the military and its veterans. Actions speak louder than words:

1. They refused to fund families to meet at Dover, Delaware the returning remains of their loved ones who had just given their final measure of devotion in Afghanistan.

2. They blockaded the Greatest Generation of Vets from their own WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.

3. They have placed a death sentence on our troops in Afghanistan forbidding them to fire upon any enemy threat without an eyewitness of the enemy engaging in real threat upon them.

4. They have permitted the Afghan government to release hundreds of murderers of our troops to go again into the field to murder more of our brothers and sisters in arms.

5. They have persisted in a war, racking up countless dead and wounded, with absolutely no push toward victory.

6. They have ignored severely wounded veterans' need for specialized care, requiring Wounded Warriors, other foundations, and even Bill O'Reilly to purchase necessary equipment, care, and counsel.

7. They have announced rules of engagement even more dangerous, forbidding the firing upon of any enemy inside of a building, a sure death sentence that will be levied upon some of our brave military.

8. They have underfunded veterans' compensation promised and have refused to meet their obligations with hospitals, doctors, and medical care.

9. They have stolen compensation from veterans who already have performed the required duty to earn it.

10. They have preferred those illegally in our country over those who have subjected themselves to deployment, danger, debilitation, and death.

11. They have voted themselves retirements earned after just the briefest stint in government, but have denied it to those who have given a career to our beloved America.

12. They have lied to us about their intentions after vowing never to touch deferred compensation already earned.

This government is led by the despicable and staffed by the dishonorable. Their actions reveal their hatred of the military and of veterans.

May God destroy them and their dishonorable ways.

I was praying in church last night, asking God to help our nation. I was also pleading to God, wondering why He seems far off sometimes when the battle is going around around us.

I was compelled to read a very specific Psalm, one that I was not entirely familiar with. I opened up my Bible and this is what it said:

1 Lord, how they have increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me!

2 Many there be that say of my soul, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah

3 But Thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for the Lord sustained me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
