Watch out Eurocrats, here come the Pirates!
The Spectator ^ | 4 January 2014 | Daniel Hannan

Posted on 01/04/2014 12:45:59 PM PST by oblomov

I once shared a car to the airport with a French MEP, a member of the Front National (FN). He spoke that very correct French which, across the Channel, serves in place of accent as a social signifier. He casually mentioned that the Holocaust couldn’t have happened, at least not on the scale claimed: the volume of the ovens, he creepily explained, was insufficient.

The European Parliament has always had its fair share of extremists, eccentrics and outright, drooling loons. With the FN then polling at 6 per cent, there seemed no need to treat any of its MEPs seriously, so I took to avoiding that one. Now his party is set to win the next European election. But it’s not just madmen on the rise. In country after country, genuine protest movements of left, right and centre are surging.

And the most hysterical language is coming, not from the insurgent parties, but from the Eurocrats. The EU president, Herman Van Rompuy, fears that the whole European structure will be blown away by the ‘winds of populism’. (Populism is a favourite Eurocrat word, meaning ‘when politicians do what their constituents want’ — or, as we call it in English, ‘democracy’.) The president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, seeks to make our flesh creep with his vision of ‘political extremes and populism tearing apart the social fabric’. Jean-Claude Juncker, the ultimate Brussels insider, who recently stepped down after 18 years as prime minister of Luxembourg, is so alarmed that he foresees another Great War: ‘I am chilled by the realisation of how similar the crisis of 2013 is to that of 100 years ago.’

What is prompting this panic? Has an archduke been shot? Are mobilisation orders secretly being sent out from the palaces and chanceries of Europe? Hardly.

It's a good time to short the Euro, IMO.

Go Pirates!

Even in regular media you are seeing an upsurge in rightist parties in Europe. Ok FN may have a number of crazy Holocaust deniers but I think the party definitely has a resonance to many French especially with the takeover of their cities by Muslims. The BNP in the UK probably has a good few fringy folks as well but again like its French counterpart they’re not all fruitcakes. In the UK, the more interesting folk are the UKPs. They want out of the EU and feel that Britain is sacrificing their national sovereignty by being in the EU. They have won a good number of seats in Britain at various levels.

Europe is a bizantine mess of various obscure parties without a documentary guide like the US Constitution. It is falling into utter chaos. Man, they are going to miss Hitler indeed. What a jackpot for Islam.

One thing is right about the author. If they keep promoting a EU hoax and fraud while attacking hoaxy fascist parties who hide behind the EU error to look good, they are only going to fuel the righteousness of those Nazis who are going to find fund raising from people’s frustrations.

Oh, and yes, screw the RIAA making people pay for the music and movie filth they produce, go Pirates.

As far as I am concerned, the like of Hanoi Jane deserve the Pirate party to take all their music and movie royalties. These btchs from Hollywood promoted chaos. Wanna see a freedom fighter Barbara Streissand? Yeah, sing for me.

Daniel Hannan is almost as good as Mark Steyn.

Daniel H? A Brit Member of the Euro Parliament is Nigel Farage. He described Rompuy (spelling?) as looking like a tired bank clerk. Think he had to pay a fine. But on youtube he has some great rejoinders to the Euro-cracy.

Bajabaja - yes, Nigel Farage is spectacular. We need one of him here in the US. I’ve watched all of his videos rabblerousing at the EU.

For those who don’t pay much attention to the PATHETIC EU, here’s a good primer:
