Marlene Hoeber is feisty, tattooed, transgender, a self-described feminist, a queer activist - and a crack shot with her favorite "toys," guns of just about every kind.
One thing she's not - and proud of it - is a member of the National Rifle Association.
"We make ourselves a special place where we don't have to hear about the 'Kenyan Muslim socialist' in the White House," said Hoeber, a biotech equipment mechanic who says she's politically "somewhere around Emma Goldman," the turn-of-the-20th century anarchist.
Instead, Hoeber - whose array of firearms includes an M1 carbine rifle from World War II and a custom-made .44-caliber pistol - and other left-leaning gun lovers have their own organization: the Liberal Gun Club.
A good thing, says Hoeber, since she would never consider joining any club that has "Grover Norquist on the board," as the NRA does.

No, the Left has always had its guns. The Nazis, the Communists, the Klan. If this woman and her ilk had their way they would disarm everyone else. You can tell whoever wrote this doesn’t know squat about guns. A carbine is not a rifle anymore than a minivan is a race car.
What this stupid woman doesn’t understand is the NRA was originally formed to give blacks in the South guns and the know-how to use them as protection against The Ku Klux Klan. Ironic in a way, both of them being totalitarian types.
The subject of the article is a "transgender" who now identifies female, meaning she was previously a he, and is now presumably altered in the necessary places.
So is your comment quoted above a commentary on the results of the surgery?

At any rate, I am a conservative gun enthusiast and gun owner that will have nothing to do with the NRA. It has nothing to do with their politics, but it has everything to do with their business practices. The NRA will give your email address to hundreds of spamming companies and those companies will send you unsolicited and unwanted products accompanied by a bill with the NRA proudly endorsing the unwanted and unrequested product.
That is no way to treat a dues paying member of an organization.
Not long after this happened to me, I brought it up to the gun club that I am a member of because they require an NRA membership to be part of the club. I am now no longer a member of that club and wouldn’t use their range if it were free.
The NRA has done some great things. They’ve also done some downright crappy things to dues paying members.
It’s just an anti-NRA hit piece. I call BS.
I know some lesbians and virtually all of them are armed. Some are law enforcement, others P.I.s, others just plain ol’ private citizens. The number with CCWs is pretty surprising. Some vote Dem, some are actually semi-religious conservatives.
Now, I am talking Texas lesbians so take that for what it’s worth.
I will shun any efforts to promote homosexuality to children, but offer peaceful coexistence.
But I ain't gonna give 'em PC speech, protected class or knock off the gay jokes.
I see glaring contradictions in logic, so that occurred to me as well.
Still, I didn't call it because these people may understand the political importance of firearms and the armed citizen and/or the armed sovereign individual, while being a liberal drone who MUST. RESIST. EVIL. NRA.
