Iran And Its Puppet Hezbollah Strike Again In Lebanon

Iran: A former Lebanese government minister and ambassador to the U.S. is assassinated a week after he sends a letter to Iran's president condemning Tehran for trying to repeat the Syrian occupation of that troubled country.

If Lebanon had oil, nuclear or chemical weapons, perhaps American policymakers and the mainstream media, obsessed with the fate of Syria, Egypt and other Islamist regimes, would pay more attention to it.

As it is, the only true Arab multicultural democracy, remembered largely as the place 283 American soldiers were killed in their barracks in 1983, is once again under assault by tyrants and terrorists who would use it as a human shield in their war with Israel and the West.

Mohammed Chattah, a former Lebanese government finance minister and ambassador to the United States, was among six victims killed and possibly the target of a bomb that detonated in Beirut on Friday night.

He was the latest pro-Western and pro-democracy Lebanese politician to be assassinated in a long, bloody campaign to eliminate opposition to Syria, Iran and Hezbollah's domination of Lebanon.

In what was his last Twitter message posted Friday morning, less than an hour before he was killed, Chattah criticized Hezbollah, accusing it of seeking the same "powers in security and foreign policy matters that Syria exercised in Lebanon for 15 yrs," referring to Syria's occupation of Lebanon after its civil war.

The article suggests that perhaps if Lebanon had oil or other riches the US might pay more attentions. Actually, there was an article posted here at FR a few days ago suggesting it does. The article was about very large off shore gas deposits in the Levant Basin. It happens that this basin also runs off Lebanon’s shores, so think about what implications this information will have for predatory Iranian/Syrian behavior.

Speaking of puppets..did IBD write a similar condemnation when the Iranian embassy in Beruit was bombed a week after they entered negotiations with the US and other Western nations over their nuclear program?

Just a coincidence. What we really need to concentrate on is making sure Iran gets the atomic bomb, and that Israel releases hundreds more terrorist murderers. Thanks raptor22.
