Report: 'Fast and Furious' gun turns up at Mexico shootout scene

A gun from the failed U.S. operation known as "Fast and Furious" turned up at the scene of a shootout between Mexican authorities and alleged cartel gunmen earlier this month, according to CNN.

U.S. officials told CNN at least one AK-47-style gun that could be traced back to the failed gun-walking scheme was found at the scene.

The shootout on Dec. 18 left five alleged cartel members dead in Puerto Penasco, a popular tourist site in Mexico.

The now-defunct Fast and Furious program began in 2009 and was run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Agents allowed low-level weapons purchasers to cross the Mexican border in an attempt to expose trafficking routes used by Mexican cartels. But the agency ultimately lost track of some weapons, including two found at the scene of the killing of a border patrol agent in 2010.

Has any police action resulted in more death then Fast and furious?

Not The Branch Davidians

Not Philadelphia Move bombing.

Does Bill Ayer’s pal hold the record?

failed gun-walking scheme

It didn’t fail! The objective was to have weapons that were bought in the US turn up at Mex crime scenes. This is because they couldn’t find any at these scenes before. Thus they had to flood Mexico with US bought guns.

Mission accomplished.

Shhhhh! That's supposed to be a big furry deal secret!

Fortunately for America, the Vichy Republicans have been all over the Fast & Furious conspiracy like butter and syrup on pancakes.

Yeah, they needed an excuse to try to further their anti 2nd Amendment agenda. The only flaw was they got caught and their scheme revealed. Their callous disregard for human life is matched only by their lust for power and control.

In perverted sort of liberal logic, they may have postulated that walking these guns was a ‘two-fer’.

If the scheme worked, they could use it to ban guns. If they blew a lot of stuff up in Mexico, it would damage a Mexican economy that might actually compete with the U.S.

Good morning.

A gun from the failed U.S. operation known as "Fast and Furious"

"Failed" in what sense? Not enough federal agents killed, or not enough Mexicans killed? Or "failed" because the 0bama regime couldn't use it to further stifle the Second amendment?

How does The Hill mean, "failed?"

We know this place as “Rocky Point”, a popular escape.

I wouldn’t be caught dead in R.P.

I'd be willing to bet F&F is still very active, knowing Zip and Holder. Just because Congress and the American people know what they're doing doesn't hamper them at all.

“Their callous disregard for human life is matched only by their lust for power and control.”

Funny how the left disregards human life, yet they get away with saying they are for it.

In case you missed it.

“’But, I do fear the loss of my honor and would rather die fighting than to have it said that I was without courage. So I will fight you, no matter how insurmountable it may seem, to the death if need be, in order that it may never be said of me that I was not a warrior.’ -Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry”

When are the people of this country going to stand up and hold Obama and Holder responsible for this operation. They are the ones who conceived it. Hold their feet to the fire.
