With just four days left before his 12-year tenure in City Hall comes to an end, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is celebrating what he views as one of his crowning achievements: the record-low homicide rate across the five boroughs.

A legend in his own mind - a megalomaniacal, narcissistic, micromanaging control freak with more bucks than common sense.
The knockout game began under his reign.
He was dead wrong about the Times Square bomber being a fat white guy upset about Obamacare getting passed.

Just like Obama did with jobs.....
Saved or Created
But far more people were murdered by abortion during Adolph Bloomberg's regime.
Abortion is a cognitive dissonance for the decidedly lacking-in-critical-thinking secular progressives, in that they cannot, somehow, consider it as a human life. Yet they will race to the governor of a state to stop the execution of an individual found to be guilty of a capital crime deserving of the death penalty, on the off chance that there may have been an “error” in the court proceedings, thus letting the convicted felon off on a technicality.
The rate of recidivism among pardoned felons is just too high to take that chance. Once back on the street, there is a vastly higher risk of some other unfortunate crossing their path just as the repressed rage boils up.
Most of the lowered rate of murder in NYC was due to the “Stop and frisk” program, and NOT to just “good luck”.
But, again, the “cognitive dissonance”.
You literally made up a bunch of lies...
Lifelong resident of NYC and retired member of the NYPD. Can’t stand Nanny Bloomberg and he is guilty of being all of the names called in previous posts, but he was smart enough to retain almost all of Giuliani’s police policies. The murder rate going from 2,200 to 320 is an unbelievable statistic. I’ll give you two more. Remember Fort Apache, The Bronx? The 41 pct in the REAL South Bronx had 42 murders 20 years ago when Giuliani took over. To date, this year.....2! The 46 pct where I worked in the early 80’s. Two years when I worked there, 154 murders, the last 2 years, 21.
If anyone needs to take a bow, its Ray Kelly. The Nanny had enough sense to let Ray Kelly run the show. No reason to beat his chest.
Did NYC *really* have 2,200 murders in a year? When? Under Dinkins? Koch? LaGuardia?
1990, NYC had 2,262 murders.
So, does that mean that possibly rahmee baby literally save like 15,000 lives in chit-own? Can’t be outdone by nyc. Murder rate is higher so lives saved must be higher too. Lib math.
Assuming the mayor has the power to hire and fire the Police Commissioner then the mayor,IMO,deserves at least *some* of the blame if things go badly, crime wise...and some of the credit if things go well.So maybe a quick bow might be in order.
Excluding the babies murdered when all medical students in NYC were REQUIRED to perform abortions as part of their “medical training.” A requirement that DeBlasio has vowed to continue.
Any fool can manufacture his own accomplishments.
If his ego was any larger than his agenda, he’d need a super-sized suite at the next super bowl in the Meadowlands.
Does he have a life sized puppet look-alike he hugs every day, probably sleeps with it too?
Isn’t it more accurate to say that the people that were committing crimes in the Bronx moved to Union City?
How much would those crime statistics actually change if you included parts of CT and NJ?
