Federal authorities said Thursday they have arrested and charged a Texas man in connection with the “knockout game,” accusing him of a hate crime for targeting a black man for a vicious street attack.
Most knockout victims that have appeared in news reports have been white, but the Justice Department said in this instance the victim was a 79-year-old black man, and stepped in with federal charges.

Is it applied proportionally by race and or creed; probably not.
Don’t expect Equal Justice Under the Law in America, not now, not ever.
We have seen such inequality throughout our history and I would not expect it to end any time soon.

The pattern is obvious. Individually, the crimes are heinous no matter who commits them. But clearly most are black-on-white and various governments, law enforcement agencies and the press are covering that up.
Well, at least we know what it takes to get the Feds’ attention....
I understand that completely. Setting race aside for a moment, I am sickened by ANYBODY beating up any elderly person.

Aside from the the video of Barrett committing the attack and commenting that he wanted to see if he committing such an attack would get national attention, there does not seem to be too much evidence to make it a hate crime.
I say, "Bring it".
This guy didn't do too badly. And he had no gun.
Sometimes it really does seem as if Obammy and Holder are trying to push whites into a violent confrontation in order to use more government power over us.
I guess he doesn’t look like one of Obama’s sons, so they can charge him with a hate crime.

It’s worthy of note that it was the city who charged him with a “hate crime”, not the feds (as is the case of the Texas suspect).
