Administration expands health law exemptions
The Hill ^ | December 24, 2013 | Ben Goad

The Obama Administration on Tuesday proposed new regulations that add to the list of benefits not subject to reforms under the president’s healthcare law.

A draft rule issued jointly by the departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury is the latest in a series of tweaks to the Affordable Care Act announced just days before major parts of the law are to take effect.

The regulations, published in Tuesday's Federal Register, amend the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which laid out a category of “excepted benefits.” These include workers compensation or disability coverage, accidental death insurance, auto insurance and other benefits that are related to health but don’t amount to comprehensive health coverage.

OK, Folks. Heads up on a major regulatory gambit to snare people who are exempt from Obamacare because they have a self-insured plan.

This proposal includes a redefinition of "group health plan", subject to Obamacare, to include self-insurance.

They are idiots. Dangerous idiots. The scramble at insignificant news and are unmoved by the inevitable and catastrophic truth. Change the rules, re-arrange staff, hire new contractors, press conference that should be called re-mumbles.

Nothing will fix this disaster. It is simple math, physics and economics. These dangerous idiots fancy themselves as enlightened alchemists with secrets of the universe.

When, WHEN, does this law become null and void for having been arbitrarily changed by executive fiat, over and over again?

Anybody here want to bet that 0bama and his minions aren't smart enough to understand the law of unintended consequences when it comes to changing a 2,500 page law on the fly?

ELMER FUDD HAS NO AUTHORITY TO AMEND HIPAA (OR ANY OTHER LAW.

If Congress permits him to “amend” the laws passed by Congress,of what use is Congress? Another step towards dictatorship.

BTW, HIPAA and Deathcare are in direct opposition to each other. HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. As such, it is funded through 2014 and provides the basis for insurance portability and confidentiality. Both are contradicted in Deathcare.

My bet is that within the first half of 2014, nobamacare will be gone. The aftermath could be a biblical size mess with the millions trying to come to grips of having zero insurance and the industry in total disarray.

No way these professorial progressives planned this outcome as some prelude to single payer, they thought their egghead no life experience theories were infallible and that all the stupid blacks, women and yutes that blindly voted for nobama would continue the lemming run wherever he pointed.

I added what I think is going to happen to your original post. This is going to be fun to watch. I just hope the DemonRats truly reap what they have sown. Somehow they always manage to escape justice no matter what they do.

2014 election will be a landslide, IF the dumbass Pubbies will keep the mantra about 100% dem and 0% GOP voted for nobamacare. The best ad will be Nasty Peelousi saying “we have to pass it to know what’s in it”.

Even the Low Info crowd doesn’t like being baldfaced lied to and then being faced with the probability of no medical access.

I hope you are correct.
Off year elections seem to be more favorable to our side (like 2010).
But we’ve got to learn how to defeat the current Democrat thrust of “war on women” and “fund a libertarian to bleed R votes” which got that scumbag McAullife elected last month.

To win, the lessons of previous fraud must be learned and preventions put in place.

When W got elected, one of his agendas was to go after vote fraud and in early 2001 the FBI was doing just that when BAM along come 9/11 and everyone except the dem’s focus was changed.

Its going to be real hard for the dems to keep pushing War on Women when their nobamacare is seen by all as negatively affecting women and children more than any others.

It’s time to start ramping up to campaign against the left’s “War on Christians.”

That is one of the most concise and complete descriptions of this debacle that I've seen anywhere. One can't help but be led to the inescapable conclusion that Obamacare something like a ship of stone - destined to sink on its maiden voyage.

I've read it the same from day one. They're just not that smart. If they truly wanted to destroy the health care system in order to usher in single payer, they could have done it a lot easier, and with far fewer electoral consequences to their party, than erecting an unworkable behemoth like Obamacare.

No, they're a bunch of over-educated ignoramuses who really believe that gargantuan, big government Socialism, creates showers of free skittles and rainbows.

10-4 on that!

There are going to be almost TOO MANY things to hit the dems with, but what the heck, piling on is only unsportsman like in football.

Guess the WhiteyHut didn’t bother hiring any historians, otherwise they would have known FDR tried the same load of horsehockey with in-experienced eggheads and although he did stick us with SS and was only saved by the Japs and Hitler, for the most part his ideas and programs were rejected.
