I'm not gay, but I am a nerd. I got picked on a lot in school, until I had finally had enough and put on the gloves with one of my tormentors. Things got better after that.
But my point is that society doesn't leave people alone. I told my father once that all I wanted was to be left alone, and he told me that people weren't going to do that.
He was right, but eventually I learned how to handle it. I still prefer my own company to that of most others. If someone is bothering me, I withdraw from them. If they continue to bother me, I will take further action
But unlike the gays, I don't give a rat's smelly behind what they think of me, because I have no respect for the kind of people that wish to control or dominate others
Gays would be happier if they did the same. People who need the approvavl of other people, rather than that aof God, are the saddest people in the world, IMO, whether they realize it now, or not.
Well that's a relief. For a moment there, I thought I'd messed up and tangled with the Grand Dragon of the Grammar Nazis. Remind me to never get on your bad side :-)
“Then the full weight of the IRS and other agencies will come down on the Robertson family and their customers.”
I wonder what the backlash would be if the robertsons were audited?
Most conservatives agree with that sentiment. However, A&E will also reap the payback from their actions.
A&E 'suspended' Phil due to outrage expressed by a small organization - GLAAD. A&E is suffering from the blowback of everyday, regular (conservative) folks. The everyday, regular folks have just as much right to express their disdain for a company's policy as GLAAD - although GLAAD is certainly NOT used to being pushed back against!
Finally, A&E tried very hard to appease GLAAD by doing the "least offensive" thing that they hoped wouldn't kill their cash cow. This fence-sitting sure feels like a slap in the face, when looked at emotionally, and appears to be a calculated decision that expects the viewing public to be sheep - accepting whatever decision is made meekly - when viewed logically. People are sick to death of being marginalized and attacked for being who they are - being heteronormal people who don't want their society, culture, and language subverted to benefit an estimated 3 percent of the population. They are sick of being attacked as a "phobe" of whatever group they criticize - no matter whether the criticism is warranted or not. And they are especially sick of companies kowtowing to the dictates of the militant left, who vociferously scream "discrimination" and "hate" whenever an uncomfortable statement (true or not) is made against them.
I, for one, hope that this backlash is but the first in a long line of collective actions that at least try to retake our society for regular people.
