IMO he wants this to turn into a civil war so he can decree marshal law. Then, the dictator in chief will have transformed American completely.

I don't doubt that he would like an opportunity to declare martial law, but I have my doubts about how that would go for him - the people are waking up and there is an anger, based on the fear of losing Freedom, that is smoldering and waiting for the burst of oxygen that puts it into full flame-on (Ala. the Human Torch only more vindictive).

I raised the isue to highlight the question of what is done v. what may/should be done.

Much of Jewish orthodox behavior has been shaped by centuries of submission as a survival mechanism.

An excellent work on this subject is Shemitta: For The Land Is Mine., by Mark Edward Vande Pol. That looks at what was probably deliberately abandoned because of the Roman Conquest.

I suggested the subjegation, ghetto-ization, and enforced disarming of Ashkenazi Jews in Europe was the reason submission and refusal to be armed became embedded aspects of European Jewish Orthodox behavior.

There are Orthodox congregations in Miami where carrying is commonplace. Whether the women do I can’t say, as among the Orthodox group I knew, even shaking hands with a man is verboten.

No, the issue of carrying a firearm on the Sabbath violates several halachos. Number one, carrying from one domain to another. Number two, it is muktza--not permitted to be used on the Sabbath, since its purpose is killing, which is also prohibited on the Sabbath. Number three, it is forbidden to kindle a flame on the Sabbath, and the firing action of a firearm indeed does produce a tiny flame.

So, your whole elaborate theory of ghetto mentality and submission is quite secondary to the basic fact that carrying a gun on the Sabbath violates the Sabbath.

I actually am aware of the valaid and accurate saspects of Orthodoxy you describe. My post was to raise the question of whether the core reason the Jewish woman is excused from religious ritual, the supremacy of family needs over religious obligation, might justify a re-examination of Jews and weapons.

Might I suggest reading Shemitta? The author spent quite a lot of time talking with one of Israel’s leading experst on the subject and Rav Moore was, in his words, “fascinated”.

Jews have a long history of discussing the Torah, Talmud, etc. I was suggesting such a discussion needs to occur amongst Jews regarding weapons. I note in closing that the Torah has quite unambiguous passages regarding being armed.

Jewish women are excused from SOME mitzvos which are time-oriented due to their role as caretakers of children, but not all. They are certainly NOT excused from basic obligations such as not kindling fire on the Sabbath or handling muktzah objects for the purpose of child care.

Cross to the other side of the street when a Negro is walking your way and it's racism.

Only one way to stop these thug Negros, hang them from the lamp posts where they commit these crimes!

In 2011, the most Jewish congressional district and state senate districts in the nation elected very conservative Republicans. The Democrat State Legislature punished the voters by destroying the districts.

For every Jew a .32? (The only .42, I can find is the Le Mat. Nice to own, but rather impractical)
