They taste better when they’re cold aged and then smoked over mesquite.

Maybe add a little extra herbs to make a sage thyme grouse.

Okay that's it. We have to move to another planet, some sterile rock where there is no native ecology to worry about and we can build and grow anything we damn please.

Broiled Marinated Grouse

3 Ready-to-roast wfld ruffed grouse (14 oz each) or farm-raised partridge
2/3 c Strained fresh tangerine juice
1/3 c Olive oil
2 Cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 ts Chopped fresh OR 1/2 ts Dried thyme leaves
3/4 ts Salt
1/4 ts Ground black pepper

Split each grouse in half lengthwise. Rinse and pat dry.

In 13-by 9-inch glass dish, combine tangerine juice, oil, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Place grouse halves in dish; turn over to coat well. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.

Preheat broiler or outdoor grill. Lift grouse from marinade, reserving mari- nade, and place them, breast sides down, on rack over broiler pan. If broiling, pour leftover marinade in cavity of each half. If grilling, brush birds with reserved marinade several times during grilling. Broil or grill grouse, 4 inches from heat source or over hot coals, 5 minutes. Turn grouse and cook 5 to 8 minutes longer or until breasts are firm but remain slighty pink against the bone.

Transfer grouse to serving plates. If desired, pour juices from broiling pan into pitcher to serve with grouse.

They’ve opened one for Oregon also.

Greater Sage Grouse EIS draft released
Posted on November 27th in News

Public comment sought on six management alternatives

As part of a joint effort with the U.S. Forest Service to conserve the Greater Sage Grouse and its habitat across 10 Western states, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Friday, Nov. 22, for a 90-day public comment period.

The draft Oregon Sub-Regional Greater Sage Grouse Resource Management Plan (RMP) Amendment/EIS would amend the BLM land management plans covering the Andrews, Baker, Lakeview, Steens, Three Rivers, Brothers La Pine (east), Southeastern Oregon, and Upper Deschutes RMPs in Oregon. It considers six possible management alternatives for maintaining and increasing habitat for Greater Sage Grouse on BLM-administered lands. The decisions in this RMP Amendment apply only to BLM-administered lands in Oregon. They do not apply to private land.

What difference, at this point, does it make on what input the BLM gets from the public. They won’t listen and the sage grouse will be the latest club the EPA and environmentalists will use to stop all human development. However...The windmills and solar power plants will be allowed uninhindered.

I’ve been in BLM meetings where they seek public comment.

They pack the meetings with invitees from various enviro groups, and even “plainclothes” BLM employees who are just “sitting in”.

So while inviting and politely receiving public comment from any and all, they are able to achieve the consensus they want with remarkable uniformity.

My daughter learned quick. She went to a school board meeting. She came home and said....Mom..You could have talked for an hour and been right...But they had made up their minds before the meeting started.

It's the same Potemkin democracy everywhere for the Feral Government.

Like the late Roman Empire, we're just supposed to assemble in front of the balcony to cheer and acclaim the latest decision of the Imperial Curia.

“Greater sage grouse”?
Sam always knew he was greater than the other sage grouse. His mother had told him so.
“Sam, you’re greater than those other sage grouse. You’re smarter and better looking and fly faster.”
But, he wasn’t greater than the shotgun......
