Black mob violence blamed on collective 'mental illness' (...traumatic syndrome of slavery')

Wilmington, Del., has a big problem: Large groups of black people are going crazy.

And this collective “mental illness” is causing record levels of crime and gun violence in this mostly black town of 70,000.

That is the official diagnosis of the city council, which, by unanimous agreement earlier this month, asked the Centers for Disease Control to investigate a wave of psychological mayhem that has turned this historic and once-charming city into an unrecognizable husk of its former self.

Chief diagnostician of this crisis in public health is city council member Hanifa G.N. Shabazz:

“There is a well known fact that the African-American community here in the United States of America is still suffering from the traumatic syndrome of slavery,” Shabazz said. “That is compounded with the many effects that are happening in today’s society with our young people and the things they are seeing, and there is definitely a shift of mental capacity of their ability to make good decisions. That results in gun violence.”

Shabazz went on to talk about the “mental illness that our young people are suffering in order for our young people to be able to take life so aimlessly.”

She pointed to the recent movie “12 Years a Slave” to illustrate her diagnosis. In one scene, a slave is hung from a tree with a rope around his neck and must stand on his tip-toes for a long period of time to survive. Many people saw the slave in distress but did not help him.

Black mobs routinely terrorize cities across the country, but the media and government are silent. Read the detailed account of rampant racial crime in “White Girl Bleed A Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It.”

Shabazz says that is the situation

Mental illness? Yep! Liberalism (statism) is a mental illness. No doubt about that.

Such BS.

Blacks were doing very well in this country up until 1965 or so. Yes, there was prejudice, yes there was injustice, yes there were bad laws -- but blacks had Strong families, good schools, good communities. They had overcome slavery. All that was needed was for the white power structure (Democrats) to stop using the law to keep blacks down.

But the Democrats wouldn't do that. Instead, they created the Great Society. The Democrats destroyed black families, schools and communities.

If blacks are crazy today (and they mostly are) it's because Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Mental illness — good grief!

The last thing the closet KKK types need is another calumny to hurl at America’s black population.

Apparently, the repeal of the 13th amendment to the Constitution was the most underreported news of 2013.

My aunt and uncle lived in Wilmington. It was a nice place. I’m glad aunt Vickie moved out of there. Urban types like Shabazz have no sense of personal accountability or any semblance of logical reasoning skills

Johnson’s great society

LBJ's "Great Society:" Buying votes with other people's money since November, 1963. How's that working out for America?

“There is a well known fact that the African-American community here in the United States of America is still suffering from the traumatic syndrome of slavery,” Shabazz said.

Oh boy, lots to say here. First, when someone says “it’s a well known fact”, immediately you know they are going to spout some bullcrap and just want to try to avoid anyone questioning them on it.

Then, you have the “traumatic syndrome of slavery”. A syndrome is a disease that we identify from a collection of symptoms, rather than a known cause. It’s a pretty inept metaphor to use, if she is trying to say that blacks are suffering from some symptoms and she knows the cause is the trauma of slavery.

Also, if you want to claim blacks are experiencing some collective “post-traumatic disorder”, then you should probably name a trauma they have actually experienced. There’s not a black person alive in America that experienced the trauma of slavery, and this woman proves it by having to reference a fictional movie she saw a few weeks ago in order to come up with some example of this imaginary trauma she has suffered. I’ve probably seen as many movies about slavery as the average black person, so when do my post-traumatic needs get tended to?

No matter the cause of the mental illness. What it should be called in retrospect, is “reparations”. That is, after it ends, there are no more “reparations” to the descendants of slaves. Nobody owes anybody anything anymore.

Look on the bright side, in forty or fifty years, their great great grandchildren can claim they are still suffering from that trauma and blame all their problems on it!

My observations as well.

But the Democrats wouldn't do that. Instead, they created the Great Society. The Democrats destroyed black families, schools and communities.

This played in with the Communist goals of destroying the family in America as well. Promoting infidelity and no-fault divorce were other parts of the assault, but more universally felt.

Let’s just put $5 billion in a bank account, and say they can have it as soon as they all agree amongst themselves on how to divvy it up. Would be fun to watch :)
