Nonsense! In a few years, when PLA General Wang Lijiang is formally installed as Viceroy of California, you will be in an excellent position to gain employment as one of his lackeys - since his thinking will be far more clear and intelligible to you than to other Americans. :)
For Gods sakes man, most young people can’t even afford to by a new refrigerator, let along pay sky high costs of housing, rents, food, gas, insurance, repairs, raising families, having babies...
That takes good paying secure jobs....
That aint happening..
This millenial generation is the first I’ve ever seen in which many teens of driving age simply aren’t interested in getting behind the wheel... I remember it as a rite of passage back in the early 1970s. These kids are quite content with being chauffered around by family members or friends. It seems to extend to a “failure to launch” situation when they hit their early to mid-20s. With their needs met, there’s little incentive to strike out on their own.
No offense, but you seems completely detached from the brutal financial reality facing most young Americans today...
“Well, we have to tax the parents and give more money to the basement dwellers so they can buy their own stuff and boost the economy. I would not be surprised if someone seriously suggests this.”
He has.
it’s called “income inequality” the most serious challenge facing the USA, of Barry’s entire lifetime. Besides finding golf partners every weekend, of course
We're talking entry-level stuff for those just starting out...you're telling me the fast-food places, malls and grocery chains aren't hiring?
Why not 100 bucks an hour
See it coming,Government bans basements.
It hasn’t even started yet....
Government, big biz and those running this economy are in for a rude awakening when they figure out most young people have no money to buy refrigerators, bedroom sets, homes, new cars, expensive medications, vacations etc, etc.

In fact, they can lower interest rates all they want....Still aint happening.
The recession ended in mid-2009
BS-BS-BS- BS- BS- BS- BS-BS-BS-BS-BS-BS-BS-BS-BS-BS
The recession never ended. we are still in the Middle of it.
To this day, there is a local police dog that sees him, and will role over. A big GSD going into submission for a little Carin. Of course they knew each other from puppies on.
For instance, we went to the Outer Banks last year. All of the service people were Russians. Cost less to have some Russian college kid come over as a “work study” then hire an American at minimum wage.
Around here, they are almost all illegals. Chick fila isn't, but they are the rarity.
I cut my own hair just yesterday. Used a #2 attachment on the clippers and just shaved it off. I AM THE RESISTANCE!
I hear you. It makes me want to ask these applicants how they expect me to take them seriously when clearly they don't take themselves or the interview seriously to show up dressed as they do. Interviews are for showing an applicant at their best. I just want to ask them if that's their best, why should I hire them?
>> Problem is that they require 5-8 years of experience to qualify for an interview.

> Maybe in some parts of the country, but I’m not seeing that here in Virginia... there are jobs available for young people who want them.
Depends on the field; I’m a CS [Computer Science] graduate and entry-level jobs w/ 3-5 required experience aren’t uncommon (1-2 year are) and often they want the experience in the exact system/software-stack they’re using. In 2010, just after graduation there were tons of “you’re no longer being considered” e-mails... to the point where I was surprised/thankful to get a post-mailed rejection letter; in 2012/2013 you don’t even seem to get the “you’re no longer being considered” e-mails unless it’s from an automated system.
