“Dunno, but the (real) Amish live off the grid, in houses.”

Thanks for pointing that out - someone should go up there and burn their unfit houses and kill their horses since they foul up the ground with their bodily dispersals, and double burn the house if it doesn’t have running water. They probably don’t have grocery store canned food and their home canned food will probably kill them with botulism, so destroy their canned food.

Did I leave anything out? s/s/s/s

What about those of us in hurricane country? We lose power and water - are they going to kick us out of our house then?

I built my cabin back in 1972 in N. Idaho at about 4000ft and lived there for four years without plumbing or electricity. It was wonderful.

“Don’t do anything to attract their attention.”

That is vital - be nothing. I am nothing where I live.

“How do you get rid of human waste? How do you bathe yourself? How do you clean your dishes? How do you clean up around the home? How do you clean your clothing, or your bedding?”

Easy, could lock my door now and do all of those things without power, without running water except I would still have running water, just not out of their water pipe.

Been there done that when I was a kid. What a pain in the ass that was. We hauled water from the neighbors in big milk cans. Then you use it very very very sparsely.

Nah, it’s not practical.

***So any house in the world without running water and electric is unlivable?***

Oh darn! My folks should have known that years ago when I was born! And my grandpaw, great grandpaw, great-grandpaw on back!

And I remember us living in “unlivable” houses, off and on, from 1947-1959

And ever so often we have an ice storm that makes our cozy home “unlivable” for days. but we get along just fine.

*** How was she handling her human waste? If she had no water...***

The same way we, and several neighbors did in downtown Denver in a partially built new home in a subdivision. The bathroom was not in so we used an outhouse! Did just fine.

***Was there an overwhelming odor?***

A scoop full of lime or wood ashes will take care of that.

My Dad had a college buddy with a remote cabin on Priest Lake...only accessible by water. Brought in propane for cooking and the fridge; kerosene lamps. It was great fun visiting them when I was a kid.

***Is that what General Custer was trying to do...***

Just trying to evict Sioux and Cheyenne invaders from Pro-US Crow Indian land. They did not go softly into that good night.

And to think, my dad lived all his life wishing for a little cabin in the woods. Never got it.

All I wanted was a shackup in the woods. But the wife said NO!

My water would start with bottled 50 gallons in jugs, plus 100 gallons in WaterBob in bathtub, then water barrels just outside back door put through a Berkey water purifier, then 250,000 gallons in swimming pool put through Berkey, with rain replenishing water barrels and pool.

Running water is accomplished by filling camp showers that have cut off switch, and hanging at kitchen sink, bathroom sinks, and in shower. Hot water is water in camp shower with temp. gauge on it and sit in sun, gets almost to boiling, use at whatever temp you want.

The International Code Council (iccsafe.org) publishes standardized safety codes for adoption by States, Provinces, Counties and municipalities in North America.

The code must be adopted by the jurisdiction (usually a City, Town or County) in order to be enforceable. It is quite likely that the Code was not properly adopted, as many municipalities are run by incompetent Civil servants who are too lazy to follow all the required steps of public notification, hearings, additional public readings and filing of passed ordinances.

How many Amish houses would fall under the category of “uninhabitable”? I once visited a farm in South Dakota that had no plumbing or indoor bathroom. Luckily I didn’t stay for long.

neither of my grandparents homes had indoor plumbing ...outhouses were it....and they were both in Wisconsin....very cold!!!

Going to the outhouse at -20 is a hair raising experience.”

I grew up on a farm and we had two chamber pots in every bedroom for use at night. Real up town. LOL

20 years ago cell phones were not required in child support settlement, but for some reason liberal tard judges think that all this tech is mandatory.

This is about tracking people.
