Not without ISP's (at least that's MY understanding)

If Comcast goes down, so do I

Somebody should tell him that the real divide in this country is not between red states and blue states (the Rats should still be Commie red!), but between cities and everyone else.

Yep, them urbanites have a way of ruining everything don't they? We should build walls around their cesspools and force them to live in their own shit, rather than allowing them to screw up things for the rest of us.

Harrisburg Mayor elect Eric Papenfuse was there. Yale Grad and friend of Bill Ayers must have assured him of an invite. City is in receivership. schools rated "F" , infrastructure in crumbling mode, tax base eroding. Will watch what he does.

DeBLasio leadership cannot be a good thing.

Who were the others in attendance?

DiBlasio will have about as much success as all the other commie er progressive mayors who rule big cities...next to none. Certainly, none of the limousine libs who live in the metro area would like their money taken by an insane clown like DiBlasio. Fight inequality? What is this moron on? How’s he going to do it short of robbing the producers? Dems have tried to do that for half a century with minimal results. The “oppressed” just become more dependent on gov. and their situation much worse thanks to commies like DiBlasio.

If the ChiComs were to nuke our six largest cities — they just might be doing America a favor.

In this day and age, there are fewer and fewer reasons why you would need to have an international business that is headquartered in a major metro area like NYC. Especially when taxes are so high there.

Somebody should tell him that the real divide in this country is not between red states and blue states (the Rats should still be Commie red!), but between cities and everyone else.

The divide is between the Makers and the Takers. Most Takers live in cities, the most infested being Washington D.C., the District of Criminals, a.k.a. Mordor on the Potomac.

Thanks, I became a bitter cynic at the ripe old age of 22 and figured out voting won’t get us anywhere. The system is too damaged.

““You can’t have a room full of mayors–literally every corner of the country–all spontaneously saying to the president of the United States the same exact things”

You can when those mayors (16 in total) are all democrats and left leaning independents.

We just got back from 4 days in Manhattan and it never ceases to amaze me how industrious, efficient and courteous the people are. It’s a capitalists’ delight, everyone competing for your dollar. It’s a huge service economy that caters to businessmen and tourists. And people are always working, offices are buzzing until late into the night. I’m surprised it’s such a blue city. You’d never know it by spending any time there.

Because you saw the very best 10% of the city.

Now head out to Queens or the Bronx and see the other 90%.

Exactly, there is no reason for it not to mention the 10 billion regulations and fines they hand out. A friend of mine use to own a newspaper/stationary store in Queens and he packed up shop because he said the fines were completely out of hand. The cities Gestapo "inspectors" would waltz in and hand out fines like it was candy - Cash register display less than 5" off the counter? $1000 fine. A sign saying "No cash refunds" not displayed near the register? $1000 fine. Cigarette displays not the correct distance from the counter? $1000 fine. You'd have to be a psychopath to run a biz in that city. I remember one time a hotdog stand vendor got a $1000 ticket for "not displaying his vendors license fast enough" VHEN THE GESTAPO ASKS FOR ZE PAPERS YOU MUST PRODUCE IMMEDIATELY!

We read a TON of stuff here in FreeRepublic and there's just enough to help me believe there is still a chance for America, but what I fear is there is a movement building and prepareing (prepared?) to just come in and take the communication system trucking lines and LEO's.

There will be battles and bloodshed (if my scenerio is correct) but we may not be able to withstand gummint armament.

If it comes to this, and they would be stupid to try... so they might just do it, they would lose. The solution is not to fight them in a heroic but futile battle. They have superior weapons. The solution is to do nothing. Without the steady flow of food into the government controlled cities from the country, the cities would collapse within weeks. The government can't even run a website, lets see how it handles something serious like food distribution.
