Conservatives: We’re ‘under attack’ on Hill
Politico ^ | December 11, 2013 | ANNA PALMER and JAKE SHERMAN

Conservative activists are hitting back.

More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehner’s harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committee’s long-time executive director Paul Teller.

“It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today,” the statement reads.

I hear you.

Pennsylvania is a citadel of Progressive Republicans who tax, spend and protect favored business and labor interests.

For the last century, PA has declined to half its once great status as the Keystone State with 36 congressional districts in 1910.

The latest outrage includes a 28 cent a gallon gas tax hike approved by a Republican controlled legislature and governor.

They increased registration fees and traffic fines to get revenue for roads and mass transit. Labor and business pocket the money and give some back to the politicos.

They say they want to reform things like school property taxes but their plan would give the local school boards new tax options like income and sales taxes to reduce the property tax which means they could bait and switch taxes to jack up their take from us and pretend its “reform”.

Amen.

This is one of the reasons some will not vote at all, believing this is nothing but a spiritual war and not a political one. Rather, it is but the sure chaos that comes to all Godless nations everywhere, in every age, and which has been well modeled for us in sacred scripture.

May God have mercy on us, who shall not be spared, but for some strange reason foreign to our history, we seem to have been deprived of the will to fight standing up. Perhaps He wants us brought to our knees to stay on our knees unto true repentance.

May God be our victor soon, and let us see His mighty work on behalf of His people.

Love, Rita.

I hate abortion and yet I still voted for Romney — I’ll never be proud of that vote, but I didn’t see another tiny chance to fight against obamaCare and the second term “flexibility.” I didn’t compartmentalize as much as triage.

I hope you rejoin the fight. It’s so discouraging. But what are we going to do without people like you? I too was extremely discouraged, and I blamed free republic for keeping me in an echo chamber, where everyone feels as I do but it’s not doing any good.... Though I know we are show prep for rush so I always hope he gets some new blood each day.

I’ve been screaming “THIRD PARTY!” for years. I always get “you’ll just help elect democrats”. The democrats get elected anyway so why shouldn’t I vote my principles. If a conservative third party had been started 12 years ago it would be a force to reckon with today.

Simple truth. Palin, with nothing but a Facebook page, drove the narrative for a sum total of months.

I adore Palin; I saw her in action up close and she is the real deal. But she was tarred and feathered so well by the Alinskyites that I don’t know she is helping bring new LIV folks around.

She is still very good when she reacts to events. She may not be the one we need to really inform the low infos.

You are right. We need to start with a few charismatic leaders and a new party. And we need to leave religion out of it. Gd yes, theology no. Just a straight up return to our Constitution and a Free People.

Absolutely, I concur. We live on, “if only”, concerning our departed Jewish brothers and their families. I can not even consider visiting The Holocaust Museum, for example. The pain is raw. But, there are those who should be living there and getting educated on how this happened and how it was allowed to happen.

G-d deliver us.

What I meant with the SP example was that if she could use a free to anyone web page to get her word out, then anyone can. Any ‘leader’ of the TEA party or the Right at large does not need the media anymore.

After my stint at Off-Road.com, I worked at a regional paper until 2008/9 and saw with my own eyes what the internet id doing to the MSM.

Palin just understands how to leverage it. It’s a lesson we all should take to heart. And there is ZERO excuse for a site the size of FR to be a non-factor in American politics. NONE.

What more do you see for FR, in the way of techno communications? Of becoming a viable, force of power and a real factor in American politics? What more can be expanded exactly?

As you see, I have mastered little but what exists.

The victims in the nazi days were extremely well disarmed. In many senses of the word. Fault them before that happened, is all. Not after they were barely skeletons.

Where are you getting this idea that I'm blaming the survivors of the camps from?

The Jews, weren't helpless before the fascists took over. Their leadership chose to ignore the warnings (Google Munich Post) and refused to believe that what Hitler was ranting about could ever happen.

We are repeating the same mistake they made - it;s not about blaming anyone - it's about understanding the lesson of history.

Name for me ONE Marxist regime that did not engage in some form of wholesale genocide against a political or religious segment of their own people.

You can't. Every single one of them have paved the path we are now rapidly going down. We are just arrogant to think such a thing cannot happen here.

And so glad you rose out of your slums.

They weren't my slums. They were the slums of those whom their government and society have relegated my brethren to. I went there to provide comfort and an anchor to their faith.

I learned that I was the one actually needing the anchor.

Just return to what it was doing during the early years when it became the force it was. Thats all. It forced itself onto the stage via it’s users, who were unafraid to confront liberalism.

A candidate should say “Republicans have held the White House for 20 out of the last 33 years. Abortion is still legal. I’m against it but the president can’t do a thing about it.”

Dummies in the Repub neo-con Establishment are in outright war with their base.

The base wants good olde fashioned conservatism aka Libertarian, etc, whateverthehell its called these days while the Establishment, who are Democrats for all intents and purposes (The One Party) are doing their best to keep the corporate welfare rolling.

Just saw Boehner’s press conference on Fox.

The TV almost didn’t survive.

What a despicable little weasel.

He is compromised goods and needs to be booted out of the Speaker’s chair.

I didn’t know that. So, it was the courage of the users. Where did they all go? And why? Times are worse and worsening. They have a home here. The compliant, cooperatin’ and sceered could be overwhelmed in force of opinion by the sheer numbers, I should think.

Well I can only speak to what it appeared to me as the reason. But I think history bears it out.

Some died, some just drifted away over time.

And like me, some got sick of the infiltration and said to hell with this madness. No one could convince me that a good number of the disrupters here aren’t posting from a Dem or GOP office.

If many won’t fight this simple battle online, how the hell are we supposed to fight them in the real world?

The old guard who chanted “Get out of Cheney’s house!” to the Gorbomination on national TV must be plenty disgusted at what they see lately.

I actually hate my 2000 vote for GWB as much as I do the 2008 one for McPain. I don’t think too much about the 2004 or 2012 votes at all.
