Poll: Tom Cotton Takes Lead in Arkansas

Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor is trailing Republican challenger Rep. Tom Cotton in the Arkansas Senate race according to a poll released Monday.

Forty-eight percent of respondents support Cotton compared to 41 percent behind the incumbent Pryor, according to the poll.

The poll shows that the race has taken a turn due to Pryor’s support for Obamacare, according to Politico.

The last published numbers from this marquee match-up came in the midst of October’s government shutdown and before the national focus turned to the disastrous rollout of Obamacare, which Pryor voted for. Four polls taken that month showed the race within the margin of error.

In this latest survey, 62 percent of those polled have an unfavorable view of the health care law — 56 percent strongly so.

“Mark Pryor is synonymous with Obamacare and Obamacare is synonymous with making life worse for the American people,” said David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United. “That’s why Pryor is losing to Cotton in the Arkansas Senate race.”

In his winning speech he should take a shot at Huckabee for not running for the WINNABLE seat in past Senate elections.

I’m not real excited about Cotton. He will be another John McCain. Yippee...

All you need to know about him..

He’s praised Hillary and Bill when he went to Harvard

He was FOR War in Syria.

He was against Ted Cruz efforts against Obamacare..

Cotton understands how liberal Arkansans are deep down, but in low-turnout elections, conservatives hold many seats now in both houses of the AR General Assembly.

I see what you mean; Cotton won’t be an better than Boozman.

AR have not rejected a Pryor since July 1972, when Mark’s father, David, lost to Senator John McClellan.

Don’t count your votes before the activist liberal judges do. :)

If the gap gets built wide enough, no amount of tinkering will help, getting Pryor down to Blanche Lincoln polling territory will ensure it.

Let’s not get cocky. It’s not over until the votes are certified. We need to win big, so they can’t cheat and don’t think for a moment the MSM won’t be hunting conservatives in the fall. Plus, the MSM is going to donate millions in ad time via news stories emphasizing just how evil conservatives really are. It’s no cakewalk this fall or in 2016.

We need focused and disciplined candidates that can street fight while beaming a happy smile.

The entire Arkansas congressional delegation has been disappointing. The 4 new House members and Boozman are more moderate than conservative. Cotton is one of those 4, and Boozman was one of those 4 before unseating Lincoln.

On the ranking websites, they all tend to be in the 55-75 conservative range.

I’m not worried about Cotton. He’s a liberals best friend. He won’t lose this race.

If anything they’ll ensure he wins... ugh. Choices aren’t good here.

"He was FOR War in Syria. He was against Ted Cruz efforts against Obamacare.."

I totally agree with you. I wrote Cotton about the issues you mention. His response was typical political opinionated BS. Don't get me wrong, I will vote for Cotton as Pryor is a progressive that supports the Communist Party. (Read: Democrat Party)

Cotton is a Harvard educated lawyer. That should raise any red flag about him being a real conservative.

41 per cent is a terrible number for an incumbant.
