The U.S. Army general in charge of training recently wrote about the service's examination of gender neutral standards to open the infantry and other combat-arms jobs to female soldiers.
The piece by Gen. Robert Cone, commander of Training and Doctrine Command, appears in the November issue of Army Magazine, the same month three female Marines made history by graduating from Marine infantry training.
Last January, former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta ordered all services to open combat-arms roles to women that so far have been reserved for men.

How about registering for the draft? Women were exempted from Selective Service registration when upheld by the USSC (1981) Rostker v. Goldberg:
"The existence of the combat restrictions clearly indicates the basis for Congress' decision to exempt women from registration. The purpose of registration was to prepare for a draft of combat troops. Since women are excluded from combat, Congress concluded that they would not be needed in the event of a draft, and therefore decided not to register them."
Isn’t this logic obsolete and un-PC?
Where are the demands from Congress to change this since they are into ‘equality’ and diversity?’
so if combat is for one and all, when are the service academies gonna make the football teams admit women?
I don’t understand. Women are obviously fit for combat. You see them in Hollywood movies KO’ing a man 100 pounds heavier with a right cross to the jaw. You see them firing machine guns and killing dozens of guys in all sorts of action shots. The males are obviously all idiots who need to be saved by the savvy, brutal, but sympathetic female star. What’s the problem?
Despite what some football people would have you believe, football ain’t war. In fact, it’s not anything like war.
It should be gender-neutral. Establish ONE set of standards. EVERYONE must meet the standards, or hit the road.
Then no special accomodations. Everyone eats the same food, poops in the same place, get the same discipline.
That obviously won’t happen. The current set of regulations was created so they would be able to say “Look! we have this many women!”
These idiots think combat is a kind and gentle activity hat accounts for the enemy being a woman. Liberals don’t live in reality.
I was watching a UFC bout between two women last week. It was after a non-title match between two men.
I recalled that recently the UFC crowned a female champ. I then thought about how society would react to a title bout between the female UFC champ, and the male champ of the same weight class.
Then I thought about poor Vijay Singh getting lynched in public for simply observing that the difference between Annika Sorenstam and the bottom tier of the PGA was such that Sorenstam didn’t have a chance. Ever.
Given that the UFC is as close to hand-to-hand combat as you are going to find, and given a combat situation where the fighting goes hand-to-hand, I’d wager the chances of a female marine surviving something like that with an enemy combatant to be pretty low, approaching zero.
As such, why in the world would you allow something like that to happen - forward deployed infantry females.
It’s like telling the enemy you already plan on surrendering.

What women aren’t strong enough to play football against other men?

Co-ed football teams might lose against all male teams?

The only “standard” that applies to combat is “kill or be killed.” I doubt they can write any regs that change that standard.

I don’t favor either one. My son serves in the Army and he’s amazed at the difference in PT standards between men and women.

its not all men who are idiots. today, most action films have the white female with loyal help from the tough and honest black male. then, as you say there is the idiot white male that needs saving, and of course the white male villain who gets shot to pieces at the end.
Let’s extrapolate:
Women are equal to men in combat situations, so it’s O.K. for an all women marine corp. Right?
They’ve been running off at the mouth since this thing started that standards would not be lowered.
Like their CinC it has all been lies.
It’s been that way a long long time.
Political correctness is driving this society INSANE.
At this point, if ANYTHING is supported by the Politically Correct, it needs to be rejected and condemned purely on that basis.
They are THAT evil.
And this is just another, more egregious example of that evil. Americans had better take their country back and soon, using whatever means they can effectuate to do so.
