Game-changer: Saudis seek to re-balance Mideast against U.S.

EILAT, Israel – Saudi Arabia is proposing a sweeping deal to Russia that solidifies Moscow’s position in the Middle East and Persian Gulf largely at the expense of the United States, according to informed Egyptian security officials.

The deal incorporates increased Russian involvement in Egypt, Syria and the Persian Gulf, and even involves a Saudi guarantee to aid against terror plots targeting the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The Egyptian officials said the deal seeks to replace the U.S. with Russia as the major weapons dealer to Egypt.

However, the weapons sales to Cairo are only the tip of the potential re-balancing iceberg that follows a major fallout with the Saudis after President Obama’s outreach efforts to Iran.

Obama is fumbling about in the Middle East and in my humble opinion will result in a regional war that will eventually cause WWIII.

Watching this guy is like watching one of the old Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies. He's completely incompetent and just stumbles around causing problems for everyone he comes in contact with.

Russia is playing the long game in the area, far above Obama’s pay grade.

With the way Obama has screwed over the rest of the Middle East, can’t say I blame them.

“He’s completely incompetent and just stumbles around causing problems . . ..”

Have you considered the possibility that BHO is reading from a script concocted by G. Soros, V. Jarrett, and like enemies of America as it was founded and structured?
What did he say about America’s role on the world stage during his 2008 campaign? A weak, fiscally bankrupt, and geo-politically compromised America is intended.

The meddling and bungling of this incompetent has about succeeded in moving Egypt back into the Soviet/Russian orbit, where they had been for decades before the 1973 Yom Kippur war. Forty years a US ally, and now Obama comes along and fritters that away along with most other good relations the US has had in the Middle East.

Look. Ultimately, it's not Obama who is getting hurt. Saudi Arabia's turning away from the US is only a single component of Obama's meticulously planned scheme to undercut, weaken and diminish the US in any and every way possible.

There's a lot to say about Saudi Arabia that's good riddance. But, doing what they are in midst of making happen is not good for the US. Look at it as the foreign policy version of ObamaCare.

It's so very ironic. I recall how it was announced in a rather extremely unpublicized way at the time but I caught it. Absolutely no mention of it at the time in the MSM, either when it was announced or while he was here in the US to meet with Obama on some urgent business. It was very hush-hush and surreptious. The time the King of Saudi Arabia came to meet Obama duyring his first term. What it was all about, is an inexplicable mystery.

The point is, that now, Saudi Arabia is turning into an out-in-the open, unrepentant enemy.

Imagine, think of this.

As our "friend", privy to a "special relationship", 9/11 was wrought. Now, turning away from the US, transformed more into an enemy than anything else, I don't want to think what they will conjure up.

The coming end of the petro-dollar... think our economy is bad now? Wait until that happens. SHTF.

That sounds quite legitimate!

As Saudi Arabia remains, for many reasons, a pariah to many in the aftermath of 9/11, I couldn't think of anything positive to say about the Saudis, anything that would make us regret them turning away from us, the West. But, no question about it, that appears a very real and catastrophic outcome. As I said, I fear their enmity and sense of vindictiveness but it didn't occur to me the coming end of the petro-dollar as being a very viable reality as it did for you.But that would be the perfect scenario to occur as far as Obama is concerned.

Thanks very much for your most insightful revelation.

As I lament in my tagline....

Gosh, you’d think that bowing to the Saudi king would get the Bamster a little more respect. (Sarc)

At the rate he’s going, there won’t be a country left that is allied with the USA anywhere in the world. An end to his reign can’t come soon enough to save us. We will reap what he has sown.
