A public university sent an email to alumni highlighting the esteemed research of one of its professors research that notes many similarities between the old Ku Klux Klan and its modern-day equivalent, the tea party.
The University of Washingtons email to alumni asked the question four separate times: Is The Tea Party like the Ku Klux Klan? Christopher Parker, a UW political science professor, argues in a new book that there are major similarities. The book is titled Change They Cant Believe In: The Tea Party and Reactionary Politics in Contemporary America.
In this commentary from Professor Christopher Parker he argues that recent research shows racism is a strong indicator of Tea Party support, said the email, which plugs Parkers book.

Instead of being seats of learning, they have become seats of propaganda and misinformation.
Of course he is pimping his book of similar lies.
Liberal radicals of academia just cannot stand the fact that the world knows what they, and their Fraud-in-Chief are all about....they do not know what to do other than this crap. What useless, miserable people.
Does the school have publically elected officials?
I think its an area conservatives should be concentrating on more. I’m lucky that we have tea partier Dr Rob Steele running for a seat on the University of Michigan board of regents.
And that is one of N reasons (where N is a large number) why I no longer want any of my taxes supporting collections of pseudo intellectuals and failed administrators in any public college. You all know that this “survey” comes from one of those marshmallow - get a degree for lots of money and no study - departments.
Science, engineering, mathematics.
That’s it. These can be supported by real companies that make real products.
Anything else is putrid Obamastuff - not worth a plugged nickel.
More a shade of Blood Commie Red.
Not sure. I have no direct knowledge of the university.
When they tell us they are going to “fundamentally change” our country, we are “reactionary” if we object.
Even hard science fields have been infiltrated with it. Like climate science etc.
We’ve got to stop retreating from all of it.
Red Diaper Dopers.
Another D-bagger egghead. Surprise, surprise. All the requests I receive from the University of Iowa for dough go straight to the shredder.
Hiding behind cloaks of tenure.. termites eating away at the very foundation of this republic.. well. what’s left of it.
I’m curious- Exactly how many interviews with Tea Party members and leaders does this book involve? Or is this another one of those books that examines a subject and pronounces it’s verdict from afar?
Since I first became politically aware in the late 1960's, I have noticed without exception that the only people who use the word "reactionary" are dyed-in-the-wool Marxists.
Once I hear that word, I know there is no further point listening to anything that follows.
tax funded institution no doubt
I hope alumni don’t send them money
Considering the rise of the Tea Party coincided with the bailouts of the banks and auto manufacturers under GW Bush, I guess they were all prejudiced against the last white president.
“the world knows what they, and their Fraud-in-Chief are all about.”
Unfortunately, the world does NOT know. The Marxist have ruled education and the MSM for too many years.
How else can you explain the reelection of “The One”...the one true Commie and fraud.
Professor Parker, could you tell me why the leftists line the intelligencia up against the wall when they take over? Think Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez
