I bet he told the guy who delivered the papers “You’re gonna have to serve somebody...”
What ethnicity are the Muslim Germans? Are they more ethnically German than your typical Austrian?
I’m just saying, when nationalities get mixed into ethnic titles it gets to be a muddied soup. Dylan shouldn’t be held to scholarly rules of speaking when making a general statement.
And yes, there are ethnic Germans, usually referred to as ethnic Germans, or Germanic, to differentiate them from German nationals. Just like there are Croatian Serbs (ethnic Serbs living in Croatia). Although there are more Serbian Croats.
I remember picking on some guy in a newspaper comments section who said the U.S. was “racist” for attacking Afghanistan. I asked, since the majority Pashtuns were considered caucasian, if that meant the U.S. hated white people?
I assure you Germans of all ethnicities are well aware of the difference between real Germans and Germans of other ancestry.
Even though lots of them won’t admit it.
Austrians are ethnically German. It is a mere accident of history that they wound up in a separate State from the majority of the German people.
Ethnic Germans used to be found all over eastern and southeastern Europe, including much of Russia. They made the mistake of siding with the Reich in WWII and those who weren’t killed were expelled back to their “homeland,” which some of them hadn’t seen in 500+ years.
Up to 2000 Muslims in Germany, most of whom are Turkish, weren’t allowed to become citizens. Even those born in the country.

I shall have to inform my father, who grew up in a household in southeastern Pennsylania where his parents still spoke Plattdeutsch around the house after five generations in America that he has no particular ethnicity. All the more surprising since what he thought were his “German” ancestors actually arrived in America from der Sudentenland and die Scwheiz.
I’m pretty sure the answer, my FRiend, is blowing in the wind.
Bob Dylan can’t sing.
“Bob Dylan cant sing.”
That’s for darn sure.
Vincent Zimmerman?
Welcome Brabra fans!
HA! Reeled you in!
God Bless Dylan!
