A mosque recently moved into a former church building on the northeast side of Wheaton, becoming what is believed to be the city's first Islamic institution.
In late August, the Islamic Center of Wheaton bought and moved into the 26,193-square-foot former First Assembly of God Church at 900 E. Geneva Road, at the southwest corner of Geneva Road and President Street. Records show that, through a bank trust, the Islamic Center of Wheaton paid $3.15 million for the church and its 7.08-acre property.
Mosque spokesman Abraham Antar said he and his fellow congregants are excited about their new home, which he said is Wheaton's first Muslim community.

Wheaton has a church on every corner,,the Islamics are getting bold...they are going right into the heart of a very conservative community,,and not a cheap one either...

Sounds just like Carnegie, PA where they moved into a former Presbyterian church.
We should WELCOME them. And nothing says welcome, like scantily-clad women handing out Ham Sandwiches. . . (evil grin)
Sounds like a perfect opportunity for all the churches surrounding the mosque to have weekly pork barbecues, preferably with the smokers located out front.

This is happening all over as old mainline churches hemorrhage members.
My Presbyterian church had to merge with another one after our numbers dropped precipitously. My kids and the minister’s grandkids were the ONLY ones left in the Sunday School.
Old photos along the wall showed a once thriving church community with what looked like 100s of kids.
New church wasn’t much better, only a few more kids — it is in the process of dying too.

I have good friends in Wheaton and told them about this years ago, when the damn muzzies were bidding on it. Apparently they all sat on their hands.
Disgusting, just freakin disgusting.
Wheaton IS, or was, a rich community filled with more churches than any other neighborhood. I think I’m going to be sick!
You can certainly pop in to any Jewish Temple in Anytown, USA and be welcomed. The same is true for mosques, right?

Right near where I used to live. Last year I saw a gigantic mosque on North Avenue near Lombard. People better wake up.

I lived in Du Page county and worked in Wheaton, the county seat, for years as a county commissioner.

I believe that “bank trust” scam is a cute way for Muslims to buy property while still complying with Sharia Law, which forbids the charging of interest.
It is pretty much an open secret that the Islamic Center here in Carnegie was bought with Saudi money.
