Come on, FReepers, use the listing to ask questions or slam Detroit so the public can see them on the listing. Let’s have some more fun with this.
Now we are getting into it -—
Questions from other members : QUIT CLAIM DEED to the city of Detroit
Question & Answer Answered On
Q: Does this include all the museums? And the Purple People Eater? Dec-04-13
A: They will have to sell off those items to try to get rid of the union thugs, but even those sales will not generate enough revenue. I will see if I can strike a deal to get those items, but my reserve price would probably have to go up to at least $49.95.
Q: Is all of Detroit even worth $5? Seems to me the starting bid is a little on the high side. Dec-04-13
A: I accept your point. Unfortunately, I have to buy nice paper and a frame, so it is the minimum I can charge just to break even on the deal. The QUIT CLAIM DEED has more value as historical memorabilia than does the current value of the city. Someday, I hope far in the future, you can leave it in your estate for your kids or grandkids. By that time, if the political left is still in charge of the country and if there actually is still a country, Detroit is likely to have every structure condemned and razed. Does Kurt Russell have a son? He could star in ESCAPE FROM DETROIT. For those who do not know, the best Detroit reference ever in a movie was in KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE. The bad guy was trying to get someone to talk and threatened him with unspeakable torture. It was not working until he threatened, “Send him to Detroit.” The response: “No, not Detroit!”
Eager huh? Did you ever hear the one about the guy who "won" an elephant?
There was a catch. He had to take possession of the elephant, and under the laws of the land; feed, house and care for the thing.
But the Quit Claim is more akin to buying an option, as in futures markets. One could chose not to take possession...
That aspect alone should make it worth at least $5 to the vaguely hopeful, but highly risk adverse...
No BUY IT NOW. I want it to stay up for 7 days for the mocking value.
that particular answer (the post# to which I am now replying) needed best be aimed towards Yo-Yo, or at least include that person, since I was quoting him before adding my own sideways snark.
I would help you out, but it's been so long since I signed into Ebay, I don't recall what password I used.
Ted Striker: “It was a rough place - the seediest dive on the wharf. Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It’s worse than Detroit.”
agreed
No BUY IT NOW. I want the mocking to continue for a week.
After watching a few episodes of Hard Core Pawn, I think I’m safe in assuming that there is just nothing worth saving in Detroit.
Thanks. I did not remember that. But I still give the edge to this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g09GtnWdBjc
