HealthCare.gov team claims victory: 'We have met the goal'
THE HILL ^ | 12/01/2013 | Elise Viebeck

The Obama administration claimed victory Sunday for making HealthCare.gov workable for the vast majority of users, a standard that will be tested as millions of people flood the site in the next three weeks.

Sunday marked the passage of the administration's self-imposed deadline for fixing the broken ObamaCare enrollment website, which serves consumers in 36 states.

The agency that oversees HealthCare.gov said "we believe we have met the goal" of making the system navigable for most people, but cautioned that more fixes lie ahead.

"Dramatic progress has been made," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) stated in a report released Sunday morning. "[But] there is more work to be done to continue to improve and enhance the website."

The mixed message highlights the challenge facing the Obama administration as it seeks to ensure that millions can sign up for individual health plans online by the end of March.

HealthCare.gov debuted with serious technical problems on Oct. 1, plunging President Obama into a political firestorm that engulfed the White House for two months.

The question now is whether the system can handle the high volume of user traffic expected in December. Consumers must complete the sign-up process by Dec. 23 in order to obtain plans that begin Jan. 1.

Administration officials also acknowledge that some problems with HealthCare.gov have yet to be fixed. The severity of these issues is unknown, but it is possible that some errors have not yet been discovered.

Banking on the stupidity of Americans has worked wonderfully so far, why not again?

This reminds me of Maoist China during the Great Cultural Revolution. IN order for a province to meet their “goals” of showing vast increases in ag production, all grain would have to be shipped to a central point where there was inadequate means of transporting it and no means of storing it. Consequently, the grain rotted and was wasted and the provincials starved to death with nothing to eat. BUT, the local Reds met the goals that Mao had set for them and Mao could boast that China was self-sufficient in grain, just that millions could not EAT any of it.

Yes, true.....but they will lie, lie, lie right on up to election eve in 2014. And, they will lie, lie, lie again to minimize the perceived importance of the carnage and devastation that the Democrat Party will undergo then.

All this for One Magic Negro. I hope their sacrifice of all that is good and decent was worth it for the sake of diversity.

“The mission now is to produce affordable care plans as promised when the law was foisted, foist being the operative term.”

The GOP talking points should be, “Where are the affordable plans for the middle class?”

Unfortunately Boehner and McConnell prefer having steaks and drinks at the Capitol Grille with their K street buddies to actually taking advantage of what should be an administration ending crisis. Compare the how the Democrats capitalized on Katrina versus how the Republicans are playing Obamacare.

HealthCare.gov team claims victory: 'We have met the goal'

Another LIE!

In every article I've read in which a knowledgeable person has opined about heathcare.gov, not one has said it can be fixed quickly. The worst opinion I've seen is that it can never be fixed because the underlying structure just doesn't work and the entire project needs to start over. The best opinion I've seen it that it will take three year to fix it.

For what it's worth, one of the goals of HIPAA back in the late nineties was to have everyone's medical records online. It's been 15+ years and that dream still isn't realized, although EHR (Electronic Health Records) are part of nobamacare. Online medical records are a walk in the park compare to the complexity of healthcare.gov. What does that tell you?

...making HealthCare.gov workable for the vast majority of users...

Funny how they omit that "the vast majority of users" is a miniscule minority of what the site should handle/have been able to handle.

Will be interesting to see what numbers they keep feeding the butt-kisserslickers in the MSM, especially with all the penalties on hold and the pressure to sign up being taken away.

WHOOO HOOOO, it’s working, it’s working. Now all we have to do is wait for the millions of people who have had their insurance cancelled to sign up so we can pay the programmers. If we hold off on paying the insurance companies long enough we can claim it’s a financial success too.

Was there ever any doubt? If the average user could not even bring up the site, if every attempt was met with a 404 error, if the site came up but displayed everything upside down and in Lithuanian, this worthless administration -- and its comic cast of supporting clowns -- would claim it an overwhelming success.

Orwell rules.

"...but cautioned that more fixes [lies] lie ahead."

And I suppose they also fixed the security problems with the site? They didn't really mention that part.
