Is the US changing sides in the regional conflict between Iran and its enemies?
Jerusalem Post ^ | 11/30/2013 09:14 | Jonathan Spyer

Even before any comprehensive agreement was reached on the nuclear file, Washington appears to have begun to dismantle the carefully assembled diplomatic structure seeking to contain Iranian regional ambitions.

A report by respected Washington-based journalist Hussein Abdul Hussein in the Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper this week revealed details of an indirect US channel with Hezbollah. … News items are also surfacing suggesting a stark split between the US and Saudi Arabia over regional policy in general, and policy toward Syria in particular. Saudi officials are going on the record expressing their alarm at the direction of American policy. …

So is the US in fact changing sides in the contest between Iran and those regional forces seeking to contain and turn back its advance? Michael Doran of the Brookings Institute suggested this week that Washington is in the first phase of seeking a “strategic partnership” with Iran, an “entente cordiale” which would see a US-Iranian alliance forming a linchpin of regional stability. If this is truly what the welter of evidence detailed above portends, then the Middle East is headed into a dangerous period indeed. …

That would be too similar to principled behavior. I think President You Didn't Build That is just taking pot shots at American interests on a catch as catch can basis; further, he'll say anything and do anything to distract attention from his so-called "health care" disaster.

No surprise. It’s the John F’n Heinz-Kerry flip-flop policy again.

Can’t figure it out.
Allegedly, Saudi Arabia put Obama through school.
Saudi Arabia is working with Israel against Iran.
Why would Obama work against Saudi Arabia’s interests now?
Unless Valerie Jarrett is the real President.

An entente cordial with Iran? LOL! The Saudis were a much better partner, because if nothing else, their objectives were clear and pragmatic: money and the continued power of the current royal family. AQ may have originated there, but was actually an attack on the Saudi house, and it was in the interest of the Saudis to repress it.

Iran is a fanatic state. The Iranian leadership nourishes some bizarre vision of being the mystical head of an all-powerful Islam, enforced through a policy of fear and a severe collectivist economy. But then, maybe that’s what Obama wants, too.

Good point.
Barry bowed to the Saudis now he is playing the knock out game on them.

Just another day in obamaland. He pisses off our allies and aligns himself with radical islam.

but he’s not a muslim.
Just ask his media.

Yes. The U. S. changed sides on November 4, 2008 when a majority of voters said, via their votes, they wanted a muslim in the White House.

BINGO! We have a winner. Valerie Jarrett was and IS Obamination’s brain. He isn't bright enough to do any kind of foreign policy — another reason why his “real” brain picked John F’ing Kerry. Kerry has the I.Q. of a rock.

The person doing the picking has a deep seated psychological need to be the smartest one in the room.

Unfortunately, Valerie Jarret (may we call her Va-Jay for short, or is that too much of a wise crack?) isn’t exactly a rocket surgeon herself.

Va-Jay won’t pick anyone actually brilliant for any post.

Saudi Arabia, not Iran, are the people financing the mosques arising all over America, providing forums for Salafist preachers to spread radicalism in the US. The most radical action of the Iranian regime is the way they are looting their own country. they're living too large to worry about the end of the world.

Anybody who likes the idea of a Salafist preacher in every town and multiplication of Major Hasans and Tsarnaev brothers should by all means support the Saudis, loyal allies willing to fight to the last American, against Iran.
