French President in Israel Seeking Improved Political and Economic Ties

...Hollande is much more focused on tapping into Israel’s know-how to help his country’s beleaguered economy.

“Israel is, from an economic point of view, with the high-tech industry, considered to be very valuable,” Dr. Tsilla Hershco, a senior research associate at Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center for Strategic Studies told The Media Line. “With all the turmoil around us, Israel is considered the one stable state in the Middle East from a political and economic point of view.”

France has suffered greatly since 2008, when a worldwide economic downturn brought the European Union to the brink of collapse. Since then, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and Italy have defaulted on their debts. France has posted lackluster economic figures over the last few years, with quarterly growth reduced to half a percent in the second part of 2013, compared with Israel’s GDP growth rates above four percent for the last two years.

“France identified Israel as a hub of innovation, an economy built upon research and development (R&D) qualities,” said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor to The Media Line. “For example, the electric car company Better Place. Even though it ended up failing, the French car company Renault cooperated with the Israeli know- how from Better Place. The technology was valid and it failed because of sales and other reasons.”

According to Palmor, three deals are to be closed while Hollande is in Israel. Two are partnerships between Israel’s railway transportation infrastructure and French companies. The third project involves the French state electric company, EDF, working with the Israel Electric Company to build a photovoltaic power generating facility. These deals are seen as both economically sound and means of enhancing the bonds between the two nations.

France has peacekeeping troops in Lebanon, and Israel is literally their own hope, short of tucking and running in humiliation.

The Maginot Line would’ve worked, if only the Germans hadn’t broken the rules and gone around it.

I hereby apologize to Israel, on behalf of all REAL Americans. Many Americans suspect President Muhummad Al-Obama is a Kenyan, but few know Valerie Jarret, who secretly negotiated this “deal”, is Iranian. PERSIAN. Check Wikipedia or Google it.

Zbig-Boy was also eulogizing and spinning his ass off about how great this deal was going to be, implying of course that he had inside info, and his quisling behavior toward the mullahcracy supposedly only emerged after Carter and Mondale told him to forget about supporting the Shah and an appropriate military response to the hostage-taking.

The entire world knows that weak willed Obama has turned his back on US Allies to back the Islamic states and muslim terrorists.

Other nations, like France, Russia and China are flocking to fill the power vacuum he has left around the world.

As with most criminals in general, Zbig is an islamist facilitator.

Zero and/or his cronies gets a financial benefit from everything he does in office; beyond that he undermines the US at every turn, because he doesn’t work for us.

Iranian oil has been embargoed for years; naturally it still gets sold abroad to countries which don’t honor the embargo. Even though that *should* mean little impact on overall prices, the fact is, it helps to prop up the market price, as Iran sells by contract straight to various other states (India I think, China also) and if memory serves, Iran wanted payment in gold from India.

Once the Iranian crude can reach the general market, prices will either have to soften or production will have to be systematically throttled back (and that means, Saudi Arabia). Zero et al have been trying to prevent growth in US production and have only managed to slow it down a little. If crude drops much below $100/bbl, fracking expansion plans will go on hold, Keystone XL will never get done, etc.

Well put. And file it under “don’t bite hand that feeds”.

Obama has turned the world upside-down.

The French are cozying up to the Israelis.

The French have a long tradition (dating back at least to the Liberation, and in the case of the obnoxious DeGaulle, during the fake gov’t in exile) of asserting independence and switching direction dramatically. The French developed their own nuclear weapons and kept them independent of NATO, for example, and developed fast breeder reactors and kept their electrical generation nuclear long after the leftists elsewhere in Europe protested it out of existence.

Holland is doing this now, whereas Sarkozy (who I’d preferred for other reasons) cleaved to the Germans and the EU against the UK. We’re seeing a shift from this socialist which may turn out to be hugely beneficial, and not just to us, but also to the EU.

The French helped the Israelis develop nuclear weapons and reactors, a fact that is little seen in discussions online. The Israelis had developed a more efficient method of producing heavy water, and the French traded for the info, I forget what. This happened before France signed Non-Proliferation, or perhaps before there *was* a Non-Proliferation Treaty. France didn’t sign the test ban until the late 1980s or early 1990s.
