Yeah, we had 6 below yesterday morning out at The Homestead, but the sun came out, everything started melting all over the pavement and now we’ve got a bunch of glare ice and all the tourists (late emigre`s from Cali, I suspect by their driving habits) can get some OJT on Winter Driving/What To Do When You’ve Just Violated ALL of Newton’s Laws.
Sorry about the chilly snap, though.
My best guess is that this is just a “warm up” for what’s coming the next few months. (Earliest I can recall that I’ve had icicles in my mustache walking out to the shop...)

LOL... I’ve broken my nose so many times, I don’t even notice that stuff anymore.
Takin’ a swig of hot coffee when your ‘stache has frozen up gives some moments of reflection, though.

one time we had a severe blue norther hit
all us single fellers got the call
it was 29 below zero and 46 mph winds
to help folk save their livestock we were sent to various farms to drop hay and bust stock tanks from frozen ice
when I got there ...they put heavy coats on me and this Russian type wooly hat w/ ear flaps
this massive farmer comes up to me and starts rubbin my ears
hurt like the dickens....I mean it really hurt
I ax’d what in hell he did that for
he smiled and said so the blood will cicculate , then dropped the flaps over my ears
them suckers stayed warm all nite
like the ole song
