They Got Away With It

As President Obama said, they got away with it.

Harry Reid and the Democrat-controlled Senate got away with changing the Senate’s rules so that they can shove through anything they want without having to worry about Republicans filibustering against it.

Just a few short years ago, then-Senator Obama spoke forcefully against doing what Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) just did. When Republicans talked about a similar rule change in 2005, Obama said (emphasis added):

I urge my Republican colleagues not to go through with changing these rules. In the long run, it is not a good result for either party. One day Democrats will be in the majority again, and this rule change will be no fairer to a Republican minority than it is to a Democratic minority. I sense that talk of the nuclear option is more about power than about fairness. I believe some of my colleagues propose this rule change because they can get away with it rather than because they know it is good for our democracy. Yesterday, the President’s strong words in support of the filibuster were but a memory, as he declared his about-face in favor of the Democratic majority seizing power. “I support the step a majority of Senators today took to change the way that Washington is doing business,” he said, describing Reid’s power grab in lofty, for-the-people terms.

Obama’s 180-degree turn on this issue—based on who’s in the Senate majority—is perhaps most amusing when you see that he invoked the American Founders in defense of both positions.

Once both Houses in Congress go back to GOp control, I'd be in favor of the House impeaching all federal judges the Dems brought up during this time and the Senate removing them from office.

A wholesale purge of the lib judges would be the tit-for-tat response to what Reid did.

So the house should strip the Judiciary of funding until the Senate dems confer with Repubs.

They only get away with it if the linguini-spined Republican Senators let them get away with it.

Shut her down. Filibuster every piece of legislation and deny all requests for unanimous consent until the rules change is overturned.

If the current crop of Republican Senators does not take its obligation to be the opposition party seriously, it's time to get a new crop in there.

Agreed. If the idiots want to fight, then give them one. Make them pay for every inch of ground. The Dems have thrown off the gauntlet.

Everything those two do is the opposite of what should be done.

When the nuclear option was needed, they opposed it.

When the nuclear option may destroy our nation, they support it.

Not only are they hypocrites, but they are constantly out to destroy America.

If they could, and would, do it, it would be cause for national celebrations all across this great land of ours!

“Shut her down. Filibuster every piece of legislation...”

While I detest what harry reid and his communist apparatchiks in the Senate have done, I should also point out that what you propose is exactly what reid has been doing, for the most part, since 0bamacare was passed. He has deliberately obstructed every piece of significant legistlation. He wants a dysfunctional congress that cannot perform its constitutional duties. That allows 0bama to assume defacto dictatorial powers without being challenged.

So just keep in mind that in the communists’ chess game, they might not have a problem with what you propose.

“OK, here's the deal with my nuclear option thingy:

Because my buddy Barack's transformation of America isn't moving at the rate Mr. Soros, David Axlerod, Valerie Jarrett and his other handlers anticipated, we simply MUST pack the agencies and courts with more dedicated Marxists and libturds before BO's term is up. And although BO's agency heads will be removed should, allah forbid it, the pubbies take the WH in 2016, they will have had 3 years to bring in so many fellow libturds that a new administration will not be able to clean them all out.

But the courts – especially here in DC – are where the REAL action is! Dontcha just love that LIFETIME TENURE thing? We sure as hell do!

Oh...the finger?

Just my way of telling you Tea Party people that if you don't like it...suck on this!!

ROFLMAO!!!”

Most DISrespectfully, Harry “The Grinning Weasel” Reid

Of course, it would be justified. But today’s GOP won’t even go so far as to say that what the Dems did was not at all nice.
