The Insiders: New Obamacare marketing –‘Sign up and shut up or the IRS will be calling’
Washington Post ^ | 11/21/13 | Ed Rogers

Posted on 11/22/2013 3:35:12 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

... The Democrats' sappy pleas that they understand they have to win back consumers by "fixing" what's wrong with Obamacare are bogus. Consumers don't have a choice. Americans won't be using the Obamacare exchanges because they find the Obamacare branding and marketing pitches informative and appealing, they will use the exchanges because if they don't, Obama’s IRS will fine them. The gentle appeals that we will be hearing as a result of all the “rebranding” and “remarketing” are just cynical, doe-eyed scams. The truth is, if you don’t sign up for Obamacare, the IRS is coming after you. Now that’s effective marketing. And the White House knows it......

... The White House plan to “rebrand” Obamacare is simple. The new plan is to make certain that the president, Administration officials, Democrats everywhere and apologists in the media never, ever, ever use the word “Obamacare” again. I personally refuse to conform to the new guidance. Obamacare is now a word with its own meaning, and the negative image it conjures up is here to stay. "Obamacare" is more synonymous with “Hindenburg” than it is with “Apollo.”

Tyranny. And now the Senate is a rubber stamp for Hussein's courts.

Enjoy your totalitarianism.

"New slogans won’t do the trick; voters would need to be hypnotized to accept the real Obamacare."

I don't think hypnosis would do it -- although waterboarding might. (Not to give them ideas.)

the newly overtaxed (who mistakenly think they will be paying a mere $95 “penalty”) and now-uninsured - will be a lot more interested in the TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY Party. Obama has 3 more years to brand the TEA PARTY as dangerous radicals.

When health insurance becomes unaffordable to millions of former middle class Americans- and medical crises hit - just what is going to happen to “middle class” people who can’t pay out of pocket for medical care? The ER’s will be slammed with MEDICAID and illegal immigrants with free health cards, so really what will happen to the middle class?

Maybe Obama will morph into President Snow from The Hunger Games. The mailed fist will come out and the Reaping will begin.

This is the message the Republicans have to get out in advance of the 2014 elections.

How many of the blithering idiots out there praising the “Affordable Healthcare Act” even realize that they are going to have to provide proof of health insurance to the IRS when they file their 2014 taxes or be fined?

Well, whaddaya know, 2014 taxes don’t get filed until after the midterm elections.

In and out of the closet, typical wolf in sheeps clothing erratic fake behavior, going along with the acceptability of the law or not.

Obama is a retard. he walks backwards and find himself empowered by not looking where his Michelle alter ego fat arse crushes on the way.

He obviously pretends to speak like a heterosexual on acceptance of homosexuals only because it is not acceptable yet. abut behind closets he is a fracking flamer, given the many hints of his feminist whorish demeanor and pauses. Even his voice trails girly sometimes.

And that will turn out just like the word "liberal". Liberals hid their statist agenda behind the word "liberal" until everybody figured it out. Now they are calling themselves "Progressives". Eventually they will wear that word out as well.

"Gay" has that same history, if you think about it. It was used to put lipstick on that particular lifestyle. Now it's used to express unhappiness with a bad situation.

I hope we know and have learned that we may be very upset come the 2014 elections. We aer putting everything on that. Right now dems are very worried for their own selves. This makes us believe we can win big. Maybe we can, but, I think the dems will cheat all over the place to win in 2014. There is too much at stake.

Now we might say, “oh no, not going to happen because the fraud would be too obvious”.

That may be true, but they no longer care about what anyone says because talk is cheap and they know we know they cheat and nothing is ever done about it.

We should worry because what Obama has been allowed to get away with. Only some whimpers from our side. Our side has ruined itself with inaction. If our side won’t stand against the Obama lawbreakers, the precedent is set that law no longer is important.

The collar tightens as the country moves inexorably toward pure socialism. Those that don’t tow the line will be exterminated. It has happened before, it will happen again.

First the jaunty slogans and promises, next the cajoling, the browbeating, fining, punishment, incarceration, ultimately the extermination.

“the newly overtaxed (who mistakenly think they will be paying a mere $95 “penalty”)”

Yeah, the penalty is much bigger than that, it is $95 or 1% of your income, whichever is greater for 2014, then it goes up after that each year.

The only good thing about it is there is no teeth in the enforcement section of the bill, so you just make sure you don’t have a refund coming on your taxes every year.

What will fedgov do without all those dollars coming in every week that they used to be able to sponge all year? Everyone will owe, or be very close to it from here on out - the people will actually wield some power now (if they aren’t too stupid to pay this little bit of attention).

” just make sure you don’t have a refund coming on your taxes every year.”

Look for bama to close that loophole very soon.

All in all it’s just another brick in Obama’s wall. He is building his dystopian nightmare, like it or not.

I especially like this line

On Thursday, the presidents of the American Society of News Editors and the Associated Press Media Editors sent a letter to their members urging them to stop using handout photos and video from the White House.

“We must accept that we, the press, have been enablers,” the letter says. “We urge those of you in news organizations to immediately refrain from publishing any of the photographs or videos released by the White House, just as you would refuse to run verbatim a press release from them.”

ACCEPT THE FACT THE PRESS HAVE BEEN THE ENABLERS.

Indeed.

You throw the words “our side” around loosely. Do you think the Republicans are on our side? It doesn’t look so to me. I think they’re on their own side, which has more in common with the Democrats’ side than it does with the People’s side. And I think that’s the problem we need to be facing.
