[You, quoting the Framers] The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It is absolutely impossible, as even the Warren Court saw, to square this kind of dragnet policing with the Fourth Amendment. These guys are amazing.

Prosecute them all, every last one, for a) conspiracy or b) misprision.

It is not Texas doing it. It is the Feds.

It was local cops who were in uniform that were giving it legitimacy though. .

It would be fun and easy if we could blame it all on the feds, but Texas is headed down a really bad road. We have cities picking up IED-resistant armored vehicles from the military, we have cities throwing up cameras all over the place, the state is full of cities who love no-knock raids and whose police forces hate the idea of citizens owning firearms. Our state police, whose boss reports to the Governor, thinks they can stop and violate (sexually violate) people by the side of the road.

We are in a bad shape. We've got tons of California, New England, and Florida liberals moving in. The four largest cities are run by Democrats. We've got a pro-amnesty/pro-La Raza governor, we became a minority-majority state thanks to the illegals.

I don't like to think of the future of the state and what my grandchildren will experience. If the RINOs and libs pass the amnesty they want, this state will flip back to being run by Democrats a lot sooner than people are predicting.

I finally did get a response from Greg Abbott's office. Ft. Worth police chief apologized and promised not to allow off duty officers to participate in crap like this any more.

Also Abbott included boilerplate about overbearing federal government.

I dunno why...but your post reminded me of this joke.

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office.

The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney.

The auditor said, 'Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, Which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable.'

I'm a great gambler, and I can prove it,' says Grandpa. 'How about a demonstration?'

The auditor thinks for a moment and said, 'Okay. Go ahead.'

Grandpa says, 'I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.'

The auditor thinks a moment and says, 'It's a bet.'

Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor's jaw drops.

Grandpa says, 'Now, I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.'

Now the auditor can tell Grandpa isn't blind, so he takes the bet.

Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye.

The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.

'Want to go double or nothing?' Grandpa asks 'I'll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.'

The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again.

Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor's desk.

The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win.

But Grandpa's own attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.

'Are you okay?' the auditor asks.

'Not really,' says the attorney. 'This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and piss all over your desk and that you'd be happy about it!'

: )

Consider the possibility that, since it’s the Obama feds, a draw down might be exactly the reaction they are hoping for and are attempting to provoke. They already hate and target Texas. They just need more reasons to “crack down” on Texas....even if they have to cause those said reasons via their own actions.
