Americans are more conservative than they have been in decades
Washington Post ^ | 9/30/13 | Larry Bartels

Posted on 11/16/2013 6:04:54 PM PST by 1010RD

The latest update of Stimson’s policy mood series suggests that the American public in 2012 was more conservative than at any point since 1952. (Actually, since mood in each year is estimated with some error, it seems safer to say that the current level of conservatism roughly equals the previous highs recorded in 1980 and 1952.) While the slight increase in conservatism from 2011 to 2012 is too small to be significant, it continues a marked trend that began as soon as Barack Obama moved into the White House.

Cuccinelli lost and had himself to blame. NY isn’t America.

Did you read the article?

Well Obama did turn more Democrats into Republicans than any other president in history and gave us a glimpse of what living under socialism and tyrrany with freedoms and constitutional rights removed would look like. Is it any wonder really?

Perhaps a starting point would be reading the article?

Since Romney got a million more total votes than McCain, is it your belief that Romney got five million more non-white votes to make up for the lost four million white votes?

How many states do Republicans control outright? How many states do Dems control outright?

Conservatives are noted for their ability to think and reason. It’s the LoInfos that emote and react.

Where are we losing and why? The House is more conservative than it’s been in two generations. Look to the facts, first.

Nothing in the article “proves” that America is becoming more conservative. A more conservative “mood” proves very little.

But let’s grant the premise.... what good is it if these conservatives don’t come out EN MASSE to vote?

The best we have are conservative spectators. That does nothing to stop Hillary in 2016.

“This is difficult to believe, looking at the recent election results.”

Man, I agree. A muslim communist radical in the White House and re elected, homosexuality everywhere, collapsing schools, race relations at the lowest point in my life, free markets under siege... I know there’s more, but that’s off the top of my head. Hard to see.

I was just talking to a registered Dem family. Their comment: The Democrats are destroying the middle class. This is in Cook County aka Obamacountry.

Romney lost the middle class last time out. We have to win them by not frightening them. They need opportunity, but they want stability. They’re on the margins and don’t like falling behind.

Opportunity knocks and we can capture a generation.

If the GOPe would stop trying to be Democrat-Lite, then maybe they would win more elections.

Hard times create reality. Here is how it works. In good times the white middle class is fat dumb and happy. Dems approach them for more taxes by telling them it is for the poor or children. Reasonable number falls for the sells pitch and after all another 50 bucks here and there is no problem. Jobs are plenty.
Then recession hits. Jobs are scarce and money is tight. Dems approach them for more taxes using the same line, for the poor and children. Now white middle class Joe tells them sorry it is not possible. Dems instead of understanding launch into a tirade on how Joe is a typical stingy white guy and the poor always got money from him and now he is acting like a racist bastard. Guess white middle class Joe woke up out of his bubble. All this time he was never loved by the poor and minorities, they always despise his ass when he gave money, and they really let him have it when he was in a financial pinch.
Recession produce good conservatives, so does black on white crime.

More conservatives? Sure, and if the libs keep aborting their children it’ll stay that way, too.

Obama drew 7.6 million fewer votes against his first performance. Why? GW Bush in 2004 gained 11 million votes over his first performance. Why?

Romney couldn’t convince the middle class he was on their side. It’s not Romney’s fault as Romney. The country wants a decent, pro-business, qualified candidate. We can win, but we have to show the middle class we’re on their side. Axelrod knew this and came up with the winning path.

America is at an inflection point that rarely happens. The last time was over a century ago. We can become the majority party based on effectively espoused conservative principles.

But you can’t do that if you lose the middle class. People vote their wallet and Obama isn’t running in 2014 or 16. Race won’t matter, economics will.

This would confirm that there is a lot of commie ‘RAT voter fraud going on out there. Conservatives would never have elected a Marxist dictator from Kenya to be the President of the United States.

Conservatives did come out. The middle class didn’t. Romney/the GOP wasn’t able to convince them they’re for the middle class.

We can change that. Cruz and Mike Lee are doing it. Sarah’s doing it. Hillary will work to triangulate herself a la her husband’s winning strategies.

We need to thwart that early and often. Obamacare is a gift. Americans were done with Obama in his first term. We need to make it stick.

That’s going to get cleaned up via GOP legislatures and lawsuits. It actually hurts the Dem machine in urban areas the worst. They depend on those ghost voters to maintain control. This means more radicals in urban areas and more opportunity for a Guiliani-type GOP mayor.

Indeed, from the standpoint of public opinion, the “Reagan era” had already passed its high water mark by the time its namesake was inaugurated.

tough to get my arms around that statement.

15/50 isn’t so many. They tend to be very liberal states already. Homosexuals have a tireless militant wing and lots of disposable income. Plus, the media lies for them.

Democrats here in Illinois don’t like it. Many are disgusted, but don’t want to be seen as bigots.

How many states are incrementally outlawing or drastically limiting it? We’re winning. Stop falling for the MSMs lies. They’re the psyops arm of the DNC.
