Married man who raped girl three times starting when she was only 14-years-old WILL NOT go to prison despite convictions

An Alabama man will not go to prison despite being convicted of three counts of rape dating back to when his victim was only 14-years-old. Austin Clem, 25, raped the young girl three times between the ages of 14 and 18-years-old and will spend two years in a reform program and three years on probation instead of being locked up. Mr Clem will also have to register as a sex offender, but the slap on the wrist outraged many in the courtroom. ‘This isn't legal. It's not a legal sentence,’ Ms Andrews, now 20, told AL.com DA Jim Ayers jumped up in court and said. Mr Clem was convicted of one count of first-degree rape for the most recent incident two years ago, and two counts of second-degree rape for the two encounters when she was just 14-years-old. Sentencing guidelines provide for sentences anywhere from 10 to 99 years in prison, but Mr Clem will never see the inside of a cell. ‘My family was very relieved to hear the three guilty verdicts,’ Courtney’s father Richard Andrews told AL.com. ‘We were floored to hear the judge hand down such a light sentence.’ The convicted rapist will instead spend two years in a reform program administered by the county jail, but intended to keep non-violent offenders out of prison.

Is this still the United States Of America or what? His lawyer said he will endure hardships such as not being able to drink alcohol at parties or cross state lines to buy lottery tickets, the attorney explained. The Judge thinks rapists are non-violent offenders.

Save your outrage for the 45 year old “teachers” preying on 14 year old boys in our schools.

I am not excusing Clems actions, but I guarantee this was mutual.

High school girls have always dated college guys.

“This isn’t legal. It’s not a legal sentence,’ Ms Andrews, now 20,”

If it was consensual, she sure doesn’t act like it. She’s pretty outraged. And you see no problem with a man even coercing a 14 y/o girl into having sex? Really?

Even if she came on to him, at 14, she was not legally able to give consent. He was the adult and should have thwarted any advances, even up to notifying family members that she was coming on to him.

She also fears for the perverts young children. ‘The judge still chooses to send him home to his three little girls,’ said Ms Andrews. ‘I don't understand that. I can't fathom that.’

This gal is Effed up.

So according to her, since she gave it up when they were young, Clem is a pedophile and Now she says he is incestuous as well?

BAH!!

This jerk will most likely offend again. He is a dirt bag that one day will encounter a woman with a gun and his life will change

Sounds like statutory rape, and the last occasion, when she was 18, buyer’s remorse. A 19 year old man (his age when she was 14) shouldn’t have relations with a 14 year old girl, agreed. I just didn’t see any evidence of forcible rape. It appears that since there were only three occasions that he hardly stalked her. After the last encounter he may have told her that he wasn’t leaving his wife, and she got her dander up and used the rape card for vengeance.

And the law is very clear a 14 year old cannot give consent.

Of course people are outraged at teachers abusing children. That is such a straw man and so not on point. your sense of outrage seems to be very very selective. Plus your ‘knowledge’ of high school girls is stereotypical and mostly untrue

What does that have to do with this very real story about heterosexual sex?

I understand the violation of the older one teaching the younger one, while using your position to violate the other, but when the gap is just a few years, I say suck it up and learn.

Both of ya.

I don’t believe this was rape.

But I am just looking at the fishbowl.
