Think ObamaCare Is Bad Now? It Gets Worse Next Year
IBD ^ | 11/12/13 | BETSY MCCAUGHEY

'Substandard" and "cut-rate" is what President Obama calls the health plans that millions of Americans have lost, even though they wanted to keep them.

Backpedaling on his promise that "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan," Obama is now telling Americans another whopper: The insurance they can get on ObamaCare exchanges is a better deal.

Don't believe him.

It will get worse every year that it exists. It can’t be fixed and the problems it creates will multiply geometrically.

Medicaid-level care is, sadly, "substandard," to use the President's word. A review of the experiences of nearly 900,000 patients undergoing eight different surgical procedures found that Medicaid patients were 50% more likely to die in the hospital after surgery than patients with private coverage.

Makes perfect sense. Markets seek their level. If a doctor can't develop a client base that pays well for his service he goes to the market that is paid for by the govt.. Medicaid/obamacare will never attract the best doctors. The govt pays little, has a huge bureaucracy to deal with and the patients are notorious for not paying their co-pays and making huge demands on the doctor's time.

And the logical next step is to increase the subsidies to entice MORE people to take advantage of this great deal... More socialism on the way...

They also look at you like you are crazy if you expect them to pay for not keeping a scheduled appointment and they didn’t call to cancel so that someone else could be seen during that time.

It’s not only Medicaid patients that present these issues but also city employees who belong to an HMO plan. We refer to them as “bottom feeders” and my doctor clients are staying away from all of them.

Great example!

We ignore the role profit plays in decision making. Profit is more than just money. It is also the quality of life you enjoy in your work.

I hadn't even thought of this group, but it makes perfect sense.

obamacare is just going to expand this pool. By subsidizing premiums there will be even less a sense of responsibility. If I were a good doctor I would steer clear of it.

“nearly 900,000 patients undergoing eight different surgical procedures”

Eight different procedures? Eight surgical procedures will kill almost anybody! :-)

Capitalism boils down to trade.

We should take “fair trade” back from the moonbats. It’s a much better term.

Plus, capitalism is a Marxist term.

I think they looked at different procedures to have a large enough pool, not that each patient had 8 procedures.

You are so right.

As long as it is done honestly, I see noting wrong in making a ton of money, or creating a work environment that is enjoyable and fulfilling.

Here's the real kicker:

Right now, most people getting cancellations bought plans in the individual market. Wait until the other shoe drops in 2014, and millions of people who had on-the-job coverage lose it.

Very true.

Compensation also dictates the quality of entrants into the profession.

If Obama’s Socialized Health Insurance Tax, (OSHIT), has little or no chance of financial success in 5 years, then why do Federal politicians in “both” political parties try to fix or replace instead of ABOLISH Obamacare?

I would guess because it means big financial success for politicians.
