A Texas Republican plans to introduce a resolution of Articles of Impeachment for Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday.
Rep. Pete Olson’s (R-Texas) office said this morning that “this was not a decision made lightly,” but comes with Holder’s “pattern of disregard for the rule of law and refusal to be forthright with Congress and the American people” since being held in contempt in June 2012.
That 255-67 vote on criminal contempt, which included 17 Democrats, was tied to the Fast and Furious scandal and marked the first time Congress has found an attorney general in contempt. A measure of civil contempt then passed the House 258-95.
The impeachment measure will reportedly hit at Fast and Furious again, as well as the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups and spying on reporters.
According to Fox News, House GOP leadership and the Judiciary Committee, helmed by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), are not on board with Olson’s effort. The Senate would have to convict Holder should the House vote for impeachment.
Original co-sponsors will be Reps. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.), Larry Buschon (R-Ind.), Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), Randy Weber (R-Texas) and Roger Williams (R-Texas).
Olson is a member of the Republican Study Committee, a caucus of House conservatives.
I don't see Texas Rep Louie Gohmert's name on this list. I wonder where Louie will stand on this.

Nope. Think about it - Taking out the Guard Dog is the first thing you do. Holder’s the gatekeeper. And they have multiple provable instances of malfeasance and abuse of office against him - IF they can get Crybaby Boehner to actually find his gonads and stand up and get other spineless GOPers to step up.

The IRS scandal showed that the IRS targeted conservatives.
The DOJ scandal showed that the DOJ targeted the news media, which includes the AP. But, where is the evidence the AP was targeted? We only have EVIDENCE that Fox News (James Rosen) was targeted, and with a criminal warrant.
SO, it is my contention that the AP being spied upon IS A RED HERRING TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE DOJ WASN'T JUST SPYING ON CONSERVATIVE MEDIA LEADING UP TO THE 2012 ELECTION, BUT THEY WERE ONLY SPYING ON FOX NEWS, NOT THE AP!!!
The DOJ was targeting conservatives ONLY, just as the IRS was targeting conservatives ONLY. This is a pattern across ALL OF THE AGENCIES under 0bama!!
Should have been done during the Clinton administration. Better late than never.
But we’ll never get to Obama until we get rid of Holder. Holder’s position is offensive line.
ANY of Obama’s cohorts should be impeached. Obama is the obvious 1st choice, however.
That said, lest we forget who Obama’s firewall is? Eric Holder. So down he should go.
But of course, with the complicit Congress and Senate, these calls for fixing the corruption and holding the criminals accountable, will fall on deaf ears.
How unfortunate for America and all of us, that this government is SO broken....

I think Cruz understands where we’re at. The people have no recourse as long as DC won’t listen. The regime has been deliberately spitting in our faces in order to convince us that resistance is futile because Congress will NEVER hold the executive accountable. There is a LOT of anger about Obamacare but currently (with the wimpy R leadership) no way to make that resistance effective. If we don’t FIND a way BEFORE PEOPLE GIVE UP ALTOGETHER the coup will finally be complete.
If this stuff starts brewing now the investigation phase could be done and the actual impeachment with the accompanying revelations could hit right before the 2014 election in which a LOT of Congress-critters have to at least PRETEND to listen to constituents - constituents who are increasingly running out of goodwill as their lives are being trampled by Obamacare and its economy busting. Politicians arguing that it’s just - tee-hee - the RULE OF LAW at stake.... might not be greeted with giggles in this atmosphere.
And if eyes are on the IRS for targeting the Tea Party, the regime might not find it so easy to stop the Tea Party rallies which create public pressure and burst the illusion that a race is close enough to be stolen.
We are literally fighting for our lives, and I think we’re at the critical point in the game where it’s late enough that people can sense the urgency but not so late that we’ve run out of clock.
Maybe they used Obama’s old tactic & voted “Present’.

Whay pick on Holder? He is just Obama’s tool.
What court case? Do you think that the Obama’s pet AG is going to order his underlings to pursue charges against him?
How can Valerie Jarrett control every person in law enforcement? If one unelected person can have that much power then the country is basically over. All the checks and balances have been defeated.
I believe that the whole regime has been functioning through threats. Threats of murder, threats of bureaucratic persecution, threats of economic repercussions, and threats of imprisonment. The check and balance to that happening is SUPPOSED to be law enforcement - at federal, state, and local levels. Valerie Jarrett can only wield that kind of power if ALL law enforcement personnel GIVE HER that power by refusing to investigate and prosecute these threats. We already know the threats to the media in October of 2008. Law enforcement should be following up on that and should imprison at LEAST George Soros, David Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel, according to Doug Hagmann’s investigation.
With subpoena power, Congress can investigate all kinds of threats - which would never happen under Holder. Hopefully those threats could be tracked back to Jarrett and she will end up in jail. Like Al Capone.
We don’t know until we try. But I think we know that nothing will happen as long as Holder can keep all federal law enforcement stifled. When corruptocrats start losing their jobs to go to jail because they are convicted on corruption or other criminal charges, whistleblowers at least have SOMETHING on their side, to counter the regime’s threats of harassment, firing, public humiliation, and death. I don’t know whether it will be enough, but anything is better than nothing.
All of what you say is completely true. This may be the last charge to turn things around. If we don’t we are in the same situation vis a vis the government and the average citizen as our founding fathers were in 1775. When it could not be changed by petitioning the king and by firing up the populace to make the king listen they had to take the more direct route of reclaiming their liberties by force. They did it then, we may be forced into the same situation today. If it comes to that I am as willing to take part even at my age as the founding fathers were back then. I had ancestors who were Minutemen, militia members and regulars against the crown and I will uphold my oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and expecially domestic to reclaim the Constitution that waa the result of their sacrifices.
