I was a Bush fan until he went along with the bailout. Seems like he had lost interest in leading and was just phoning it in.

Crawford is a two hour drive from Dallas...and an even shorter helicopter ride. Two hours isn’t a bad drive time to get away to a ranch, in Texas.

I’ve always wanted to ask him if he was tricked, or in on it. Maybe Jay will ask him. /s

-"I was a Bush fan until he went along with the bailout. Seems like he had lost interest in leading and was just phoning it in." Exactly the very same thing for me, at exactly the same time (SEP 08), but actually preceded a bit more earlier in my doubts about him, when he continued to 'fight' in Iraq in 2004-2005 with minimally small number of combat troops for a "politically correct prosecution of the war" thereby allowing insurrection to take hold with uncontrolled chaos and open borders with Iran...resulting in losing Congress in 2006, and then a belated correction action with a 30,000 troop "SURGE".

I thought it curious that, while he was prez, he always vacationed at the ranch. And he still vacations there. It was never meant to be his permanent home. When he left the WH he bought another fairly modestly-priced house for full time living.

They fear Ted Cruz like no one else since Ronald Reagan.

Funny... they no longer have any stroke with the base and the progressives all are gop/e anyway.

Anybody paying attention knew the crash was coming. I meant on a superficial level, those years were milk and honey. It is hard not to look upon them fondly, especially now.
I remember the 1980's, booming economy and no crash in in sight. Thank You Ronald Reagan!

“So, the ranch was just an 8-year prop?
Ofcourse. I always thought that. Remember how modest it was too? “
Bush’s ranch now is a 100,000 acre spread in Paraguay.
