Suddenly, all the shutdown nastiness and intense anti-Republican sentiment seems like a distant memory. Obamacare has been front and center for weeks, and public opinion has adjusted accordingly. Pew produced some very negative data for the president late last week, and now Quinnipiac confirms the undeniable downward trend. One upper-cut to the jaw after the next:
(1) President Obama's overall job approval rating is deep underwater at (39/54). It's not pretty across the board: Independents (30/63), women (40/51), Hispanics (41/47), and young voters (36/54). The telling right track vs. wrong track number stands at a miserable (21/78).
(2) On issues, the president's credibility is in the toilet. He's getting pummeled on almost every single question polled: (38/59) on the economy, (38/53) on foreign policy, (35/53) on immigration, (32/62) on the federal budget, and (36/60) on healthcare. Speaking of which...
(3) Obamacare is more unpopular than ever. In Quinnipiac's poll released as the government shutdown began, aggregate public approval of the president's signature law was only upside down by two points (45/47). Today it sits at (39/55) among all respondents, (30/63) among indies, (41/51) among women, (44/50) among Hispanics, and (42/51) among young voters.
(4) Even as Obama's ratings have slid over the last year, he almost always outpaces the GOP on major questions. Not anymore. On all four major issues polled, Americans now narrowly side with Congressional Republicans over the president. An astonishing shift: Boehner and company are +5 on the budget, +4 on the economy, and +1 on both immigration and healthcare.
(5) By more than a two-to-one margin, Americans say the law will make their own healthcare worse, not better. One-third say it will stay the same.
(6) Delaying the individual mandate tax now attracts the support of 73 percent of Americans, with just 20 percent opposed. Such an outcome would accelerate the law's problems. What will Democrats do? By a two-to-one margin, Americans don't believe the White House will meet its November 30 deadline to repair Healthcare.gov. The public splits evenly on the question of whether Obama "knowingly" lied about the law. But then...
(7) People no longer trust Obama in general. On the question of whether the president is "honest and trustworthy," he's crashed from (54/41) to (44/52) since October 1st. Perhaps this lie had something to do with that extraordinary erosion of confidence.
Your move, vulnerable Democrats. Your personal brands are tied into the president's and are therefore in grave danger. Just ask Sen. Kay Hagan, for example. I'll leave you with this:

Who are the 40% morons that still think he’s a good President???
We are doomed.
Good news but it doesn’t mean anything. The boy can’t be reelected again anyway. These polls mean absolutely nothing right now. The ‘RATS and the braindead have already begun their love affair with Slick Willie’s old hippie wife. They don’t care about the Kenyan anymore. He means nothing to them.
Rush is right about most things, but I think he’s missing the boat on this one. Posted this on a thread earlier today:
I think that ship has sailed, as far as this failing and leading to single-payer thing. That might have been the plan BEFORE the disastrous roll-out, but this has not just failed, but failed so unprecedentedly, so spectacularly, and been ridiculed so unmercifully, that instead of crying out for single-payer, I think most Americans are wishing the government would just get lost.
As FReeper HiTechRedNeck put it on another thread, the planners wanted a soft fail, not a spectacular fall off the edge of the aircraft carrier fail.
Black voters approve 75% to 15% in the same poll. The article left that out so they didn’t sound like racists. It is time to drop this politically correct bull crap and let the facts speak.
Obama - Oct 30, 2008: “five days from now we will fundamentally change America”. AND he did.
Old is the key word. Hildabeast is not a shoe in as many think.
IT will all turn around in a few weeks when they get that website working.
I hope you’re right.
As of late, listening to Rush has been nothing but demoralizing. It doesn’t matter what it is, he always spins it as a win for Obama. After listening to his shows I’m like: “What the hell are we even trying for?” Whether Rush realizes it or not, he pounds home the point every show that there really is nothing we can do.
I think I need a break from Rush for awhile. I really find no value in having Rush (or Mark for that matter) tell me for three hours a day how we’re screwed.
Good point, and why I am not confident we’ll ever have a truly free election again. They are using tax dollars to buy votes.
And that is with
1. the MSM's obsessive 24/7 Bush bashing and;
2, the MSM's slavishly worshipful grovelling before their messiah and 24/7 love fest beamed across the land by all means at their disposal.
If they had savaged Dear Leader as ferociously as they did W, Dear Leader's approval ratings would be in the single digits.
I really hope you’re right. This country cannot withstand the assaults by two America-hating, commie Marxists in a row. JMO.
So why isn't isn't this repeated in every other sentence a Republican utters on the Senate or House floor, or in front of a camera or on any talk show?
Republicans and patriots should spit everytime they utter Traitorobama's name or the name of any Demonrat who voted for Traitorobamacare.
Toilet paper with pictures of traitors Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, and other Demonrats should be handed out by the GOP for use in homes and businesses until Traitorobamacare is completely revoked. Demonrats need to be held up in mockery and ridicule as traitors to the United States of America.
Obama Oct 30, 2008: “five days from now we will fundamentally change America”. AND he did.
maybe they’ll get the website working, but the prices won’t come down.
That 40% is baked in. Minorities, single women, and the generally dipshitted provide a secure base for our first anti-American president.
