Iran's Rouhani Says Uranium Enrichment a "Red Line"
Real Clear Politics/AP ^ | Nov 10, 2013 | Nassar Karimi

Iranian officials said Sunday the country made progress with world powers during "serious" talks over Tehran's nuclear program, but insisted the nation cannot be pushed to give up uranium enrichment as negotiations move into tougher ground over ways to ease Western concerns that Iran could one day develop atomic weapons.

The remarks on enrichment repeat past declarations on the country's "right" to produce nuclear fuel, which is a key element of the talks over its scope. But President Hassan Rouhani and his top envoys seek to assure hard-line critics that Iran will not make sweeping concessions in the negotiations, which ended without agreement in Geneva early Sunday and are scheduled to resume next week.

They are sitting on all this oil, but they desperately need nuclear power. Riiiiiiight. How many centrifuges do they have spinning already? To what percentage do you need to enrich uranium so you can put it in a warhead?

Vive la France. i didn’t think I would ever get those words out of my mouth.

Iran Nuclear Talks End Without Deal. Progress Reported, Talks Expected to Resume Nov. 20

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303309504579187474244929100

EXCERPT:

“Iran and six world powers failed late Saturday to seal a confidence-building deal to freeze Tehran’s nuclear program, but the two sides agreed they had made enough progress during the three days of talks to hold another round.

On Sunday, Iranian President Hasan Rouhani said in an address to parliament that uranium enrichment is a “red line” that can’t be crossed...

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said after the talks concluded that the two sides were closer now than they were before the meetings began this week and he believed a deal still could be reached.”

I guess Kerry is trying to give away the safety of Israel for empty words from Iran...

More to the point, they are sitting on massive natural gas supplies which is ideal and far cheaper than nukes to run electic generators.

Clean, fast, effecint, cheap, and they are just flaring their gas.

There is NO reason for them to persue nukes, except to make bombs.

I think it's pretty funny a person can go to work or where ever here in America and say, “I am going to eliminate you or someday soon you will cease to exist” and before ya know it the cops will shackle that person. Next scene, they'll be doing the perp walk.

Iran has done the same exact thing. They have threatened Israel numerous times with death....and these nutjob liberals running the show exhibit a huge double standard.

Well, now ya know, we need to understand why they are sideways with Israel and America. What is it we've done to facilitate such a response? What can we do to help Iran like us? America wants to feel the pulse of the Persian peoples. How can we help you heal?

We’re not negotiating at all. Obama wants to be the head of the new caliphate, Marxist version, and sees Iran as the surest way of achieving that. So we’re just giving it away, and even the Saudis (”guardians of Mecca” and their own personal fortunes) are freaked out.

All parties of our political class have been helping Iran to have the time to build nukes for over a decade for the purpose of continuing to keep global markets and debt flows going as smoothly as usual. Favored constituents have cried against all intended moves by two administrations to stop Iran from building nukes.

Could this be related?

Furthermore, France has high stakes in Sunni countries in the region that are fiercely opposed to Iran becoming a nuclear power. Saudi Arabia, for instance, is the region’s foremost buyer of French arms. “In light of the current economic situation in France, which really does not look so bright, these weapons deals are very important to the country,” Hershco said.

In late August, Paris reportedly signed a €1 billion ($1.34 billion) defense contract with Saudi Arabia, which included overhaul work on four frigates and two refueling ships.

It makes sense. I think all the Arab countries in the region are concerned about Iran getting the bomb — and the US was apparently not listening, but the French were.

“Could this be related?”

I’d say that’s a good guess
