US, France, Britain: Iran nuclear negotiations have reached an abrupt halt (France holds the line)
Jerusalem Post ^ | 11/09/2013 13:01

After negotiating with help of US secretary of state, French FM stresses importance of Israel's security concerns, says there will be no deal; US diplomats tell 'LA Times' talks will continue at least into next week.

France said on Saturday there was no certainty nuclear talks under way with Iran in Geneva would succeed because of major stumbling blocks over an initial proposed text on a deal, and the importance of Israel's security concerns.

"As I speak to you, I cannot say there is any certainty that we can conclude" the talks, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on France Inter radio, noting that France could not accept a "sucker's deal".

Top diplomats from Iran and six world powers are in a third day of negotiations over Iran's nuclear program to try to end a decade-old standoff. The West suspects that Iran is enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapons capability. Tehran denies this.

"The security concerns of Israel and all the countries of the region have to be taken into account," Fabius said.

Among the sticking points for Paris, Fabius said that France wanted Iran to stop operations at its Arak reactor during the negotiations and said there were questions about Iran's stock of uranium enriched to 20 percent.

France has traditionally taken a tougher line on Iran than most other world powers and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has accused it of being more intransigent in talks than the United States.

Among the sticking points, Fabius said, was a call for Iran to halt operations at its Arak research reactor - a potential producer of bomb-grade plutonium - while the negotiating process goes on, as well as questions about Iran's stock of uranium enriched to 20 percent of fissile purity.

No one has anything to force France to sell out Israel and France seems to see the bigger picture.

Wow also. Remember France is where all these Muzzies run to when the pressure is on in their country back home. That Ayatollah Komennie who came back from France to take over Iran after the revolution. He hunkered down in France all those years after the Shaw got over thrown.

France?!?!?

As in Judges 7, once more God would show how only 300 men French cheese-eating surrender monkeys can deliver the Iranianites", lest the two-faced, traitorous horse-face be said (by the MSM) to have delivered them by his own hand.

Gotta give the Frogz a little credit. Remember it was just a few weeks ago that they sent an armed force into Mali to shut down a bunch of Muzzie Hoodlums. That, along with their internal problems with immigrant Muzzies has them using up their sense of humor for putting up with general Muzzie krap. And France ain’t that far away from Asia Minor such that a radiation cloud anywhere in the ‘hood would affect France directly. -—Wouldn’t be surprising at all if France was willing to help Ben shut down the Mullah’s nuke hobby shop.

“Wouldn’t be surprising at all if France was willing to help Ben shut down the Mullah’s nuke hobby shop.”

I’d be shocked. They’d have universal riots in France. Hundreds would die. Also, they don’t have the logistics and nobody can loan them the tankers they’d need to fly any distance; as Obama won’t. Also, they’d have to pass by plenty of Obama controlled space coming and going.

Nope, we’re going to have to rely on Saudi Arabia’s self interest here. I don’t know if they’re up for it and the attempt may cause their (I think) fragile regime to collapse under its own weight.

Oh, let’s not forget the wildcard sitting on the boarder; Turkey.

"And France ain’t that far away from Asia Minor such that a radiation cloud anywhere in the ‘hood would affect France directly."

Turkey (long ago called Asia Minor or Anatolia) is a fair piece downwind from France. There are three governments south of France that see things more the Iranian way, though.

After all, goes the line, we got Iraq wrong, how do we know the truth about Iran? Even French President Jacques Chirac now seems to get it. He recently warned, "Leaders of any state that uses terrorist means against us, as well as any that may be envisaging, in one way or another, using weapons of mass destruction, must understand that they would be exposing themselves to a firm and appropriate response on our behalf," said Chirac. "That response could be conventional, it could also be of another nature," clearly referring to France's nuclear weapons.

One thing’s for sure. The political classes of the nations (including our own for a long time) are not honest or loyal with Israel as an ally or honest with themselves about the intentions of Iran and its allies. They continue getting big cash flow from global trade and big government for putting off war with foreign enemies. Because of that dishonesty, world nuclear war becomes ever more likely in time. Look at the mess that the aging counter-culture kids running every political faction have made.

Iran talks have concluded without a deal to be resumed at a later date!

Ball is back in Netanyahu’s court - what will he do now?

The next round of talks will be in 7-10 days.

Assuming of course Netanyahu hasn’t launched war by then.....

France sees Iran dominating Syria and Syria dominating Lebanon. France supports the Lebanese Maronite Christian minority that is being dominated by Syria and the Iranian backed Hezollah.

Both countries were French colonial territories from 1920-1943.
