Health insurance used to be called hospitalization, and it was what insurance is meant to be. It only covered large, unexpected expenses, the way car and homeowner’s insurance works. Nobody expects their car insurance company to pay for oil changes or new tires. The health insurance system is a mess.
Nobody should have to pay any other person’s bills. Once you go down the road of taking from one to give to another, no matter how “noble” the reason, it never stops. Charity is voluntary or it’s not charity; it’s a form of slavery.
“We are indenturing our young even before they leave the womb.”
I don’t think this resonates with many young people because they’ve known since they were 14 years old that they have no intention of having children. Cynical? Yes. Accurate? Absolutely. Trying to warn people about effects on a next generation that they have no intention of breeding isn’t attaining any results.
