Senate Approves Gay Rights Bill
Washington Post ^ | November 7, 2013 | Ed O'Keefe

Posted on 11/07/2013 1:27:46 PM PST by lbryce

The Senate passed historic gay rights legislation Thursday to bar discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in the workplace, another victory for the gay rights movement that has been gaining favor in the courts and electoral politics.

Senators voted 64 to 32 to approve the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

The vote marked the first time lawmakers had approved legislation to advance gay rights since repealing the military’s ban on gay men and lesbians in uniform in late 2010 and came two days after Illinois became the 15th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Just four months ago the U.S. Supreme Court sanctioned federal recognition of legally married gay couples.

“Let freedom ring,” Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), the bill’s chief sponsor, said shortly before the vote.

The Marxist Senate wants to force every Christian church in America OUT of existence.

The ones who supported the bill include Coone, Flake, Collins, Portman, Ayotte, Toomey, Hatch, McCain, Heller, Kirk and Murkowski. No surprises as far as I’m concerned.

Not voting Barraso, Coburn and Sessions

I still sent email to both jacks in the Senate and to Rep. Tipton in the House. Both Jacks in the Senate supported it.I wrote that it is Socialism and un-American.I told Tipton the same.I reminded them that Blackstone, Locke, and James Wilson to name three from American history believed when human laws contradict Gods Law /the Laws of Nature/or Revealed Law then human law is in error. It is a violation of Gods Law for government to dictate who one can hire —or fire For a man has property rights that come from God that tell him what he can do with his God given abilities. So the Senate Bill is void.

It would take Boehner allowing a floor vote, plus 18 RINOs voting for it. Anything could happen, but I doubt Boehner would violate the “Hastert rule” here, so soon after doing so on the debt ceiling/CR. He usually follows up his betrayals by pretending to be a conservative for a few months.

You can still refuse them a job because they are Democrats.

Until they tag that onto the end of the bill.

But yes, there is more than one way to skin a RAT!

There are people in this country stupid enough to believe that discrimination against transgendered kindergarten teachers is a more serious problem in America today than the destruction of our economy and our health care system. And there are MANY such people.

Interesting that Senator Lindsey Graham apparently voted no.

I’d be willing to call a cease fire with the left on social issues so that we could try to find some compromise to fix our economy; however, the left never stops pushing their social agenda, so let the war rage between us. This political contest has no rules and we have been taking full body blows for the last 20 years or longer. We must fight back with tactics they used to topple our previous social compact. We are now the oppressed minority and it’s time we employ the tactics of left to fight the left. Breitbart was our anti-Alinsky. We need to find others like him.

Flimsey Tinkerbelle knows when to “pass” as conservative. Probably deepens his voice on the Senate floor & Meet The Press, at least through 2014. Increasing backlash building here in S.C.

Are there exemptions for religious organizations? Don’t they have a right to refuse someone on the basis of incompatible views or lifestyle?

I know I’m naive, but I wonder: why would someone gay want to work someplace either too foreign or hostile, anyway? Unfortunately, there will always be the militant who needs to make a statement.

There was a reason why these people should have been done with or at least stay behind their doors.....now it's beyond "spreading" it's infecting entire societies. (Sodom and Gomorah come to mind)...and it won't be long till they all know, without doubt, how God will contend with them and those who encouraged and supported this perversion.......

You are more right than you know.

The problem is that Americans DO NOT UNDERSTAND Marxism, Fascism or Homosexuality in terms of their true natures.

They all claim to want ‘fair treatment’ and ‘equality’.

But that is a lie. Each of those will force it’s way upon those whom they intend to subjugate.

It’s a sad travesty that even among Christians, they do not understand the fact that the Abomination of Homosexuality is not simply because it is a perversion of what God intended sex for, but because it’s root nature is one of pride and deviance so as to force itself on anyone it chooses.

Case-in-Point (and this applies to Marxism and Fascism as well) - Genesis 19.

They will surround your house and demand to have sex with whomever they demand, and if you do not comply, they will seek to break down your doors and rape you and yours.

Because American Christians bought the lie to love and treat as equals, those who push sin and ideas anathema to our Foundations upon society - we are about to be conquered by them.

In fact I had a homo activist tell me almost two decades ago that he loved that Christians held hands and candlelight vigils. Because he said while we do that - they are leapfrogging over us to have their lifestyle shoved down our throats by the courts and the force of law.

He was right, and I was wrong then to think the American Christian would never stand for that.

You do understand it’s a trap, right?

The House Votes it down or Boner doesn’t let it come to the floor. Next day Headlines, GOP hates Gays, treats them as second class Citizens like the Blacks were treated before the Civil War.

The GOP has to counter this by explaining how silly the Law is and that it’s just another Trial Lawyer gift from the Democrats.

GAYS ARE NOT DENIED ANYTHING, PERIOD AND EXCLAMATION POINT!

Perhaps we can counter with a Conservative / Tea Party Rights Bill, where Liberals can be sued for lying about us and slinging vulgar words like Teabagger and Terrorist..

Employers don’t give a crap about your personal stuff if you do a good job. Period.

It's one thing to work in retail. But what about someone openly gay who wants to teach at a religious school? Or work around religious people?

People think it won't come knocking on their doors. After all, why would someone gay (or even liberal) even want to be around a Baptist, Catholic, or Orthodox Jew?

The problem is, there is always the one who wants to make a statement -- flaunt it in everyone's face. An incident occurred recently in NYC when a student from a Catholic school openly brought her "girlfriend" to one of the class events -- then complained to the press that she got expelled.

Company culture is also affected. What about the guy who complains about not being invited to another employee's wedding -- because he can't bring along his partner? Or wonders why no one wants to attend his wedding?

This is going to create a lot of resentments & complications.

The majority of the nation is spiritually in Satan’s camp now.

Let’s stop pretending otherwise.
