The results of the Virginia election should be enough to cause a revolt within the GOP. But nothing will come of it.

It’s not like RNC wasting money on Christie instead, is it?
I sympathize with Cuccinelli. But Reagan was portrayed as a wild-eyed crazy by the media every time he ran for office. When he went up against Carter in 1980, he was slammed as a senile old crazy who would get us all killed in a nuclear war. He won anyway. Politicians win because of superior political skills, not their political views. Cuccinelli went through trial by election, and was found wanting. Superior politicians anticipate everything, look for ways to respond effectively within their resource constraints and find a way to win.
I don’t blame the RGA as much as the RNC but then again we need to start blaming ourselves because if we want candidates that aren’t owned by big money interests and who represent us and not those interests then it is WE who will need to fund them. It doesn’t mean we even have to cut big checks. The power is in numbers. There are millions of conservatives and constitutionalists in America and if we can’t each donate $5 to $10 a piece a month on the one most pinnacle race in this election season then there is something wrong with us. There were 2 races that deserved our attention the Lonegan race and the Cuccinelli race and it wasn’t till right at the last weeks of the race did either of the races get the attention they needed. While Lonegan was a true longshot Cuccinelli could’ve been a slamdunk and even Lonegan would’ve probably won had the selfish bastard at the top of the ticket had scheduled the election on the same day as the Governor’s race.
Sure the establishment is to blame for screwing up the GOP party but we need to realize that those that have screwed it up are benefiting from it and will not help us fix it because it means they lose their power. Very few in the top echelons really believe in individual liberty and true constitutional governance which is why they won’t run on it.
This loss belongs to the GOPe, its what they wanted.
There isn’t going to be a comeback. Ken, unfortunately, is finished. The GOP-e rejected him, and the Grassroots cannot support him by himself.
I think Christie is an army of one. After the high-profile way in which he shivved Romney by embracing Obama, and his complete lack of coattails in NJ, it's hard to see how he's gonna get anything but the cold shoulder from GOP officeholders nationwide. It's not as if the base is pressuring GOP officials to help Christie - the pressure is to tar and feather the guy.
The RGA should have let Cuccinelli's team spend money as they see fit. Running China ads were quite stupid -- and something Jindal would likely endorse.
Jindal is my Governor. Jindal has foolish ambitions to be President.
Jindal can best be described as a technocrat. He has never had any private sector experience.
Jindal can parrot Conservative principles at times, but it is just an intellectual exercise on his part.
Unoke, Cruz, Mike Lee and Palin, Jindal does not have Conservatism in his DNA.
Reagan found a way to work with the moderates without repudiating his principles. His 11th commandment was common sense. Airing your dirty laundry vis-a-vis senior party figures in public burns bridges and doesn't advance your political career. That's why he never did it. Whether it's Cuccinelli venting or his advisors, they're doing his political future no favors.
I bet the RGA had marching orders from the RNC to squash this Tea Party moment to clear the way for a Christie 2016 run.

That's what my buddy the rabid Mets fan used to say about his team at the end of every dismal season. But he always made sure his next season ticket order went in on time.
Sadly this is a big part of GOP politics. Big egos that don’t listen and are tone deaf to the voters. I had this very thing happen in my last campaign I ran, the firm hired by the SMF basically ran ads that were totally out of kilter to what would reach the voters.
Not to argue over politicians, but another 7 million bucks, well spent, would have made a big difference.
The advisor isn’t named, who is it and why should I believe this story?
Could this guy be one of the 4% of Republicans that voted for McAuliffe?
