(President Dole, President McCain, President Romney)

Another opinion. These candidates lost not because they were 'moderate' but because they lost the vote of working family voters. The same vote that went to Reagan.

Rush just offered proof that the moderates cannot win. Cuccinelli won the independents by 9%. That means that the independents are shrinking from the wishy washy moderates.

The lesson to learn is to vet the candidates and then donate directly. No money to the RNC and tell them why when they call you and ask for money.

The RNC should have exposed that Libertarian as a fraud and they let him stand unchallenged.

Republicans must be moderate to win.

Hmmm. I wonder if the WP would call Scott Walker a moderate.

Was this bad campaigning; an over-sight if you wish, or was a purposeful move? I think in light of the overt animosity shown towards non-GOPe politicians in the recent, and not so recent past that there is a good argument that the GOPe was complaisant in the defeat.
