Obama, Democrats seek to make Virginia governor's race a Tea Party referendum

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama and fellow Democrats attempted on Sunday to tap into voter anger about a 16-day U.S. government shutdown and turn Virginia's upcoming governor's election into a referendum on Tea Party conservatives.

With Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe leading polls over Republican Ken Cuccinelli before Tuesday's vote, Obama and Democratic speakers at a rally in the Washington suburb of Arlington pressed party activists to focus on turning out the vote.

Northern Virginia's Washington suburbs, where many government employees and contractors live, was hit particularly hard by the government shutdown last month that resulted from a stalemate over the U.S. budget and debt ceiling that Americans for the most part blamed on Republicans.

The Tea Party conservative wing within the House of Representatives was a key bloc in Republicans' failed push to defund Obama's signature healthcare law in exchange for approving spending bills to reopen the government.

"This election is going to say a lot about Virginia's future, and the country's future," said Obama.

Addressing a crowd of about 1,600 people in a high school gymnasium, Obama said the Tea Party was "willing to hijack their party, the country and the economy and bring progress to an absolute halt if they don't get 100 percent of what they want."

Speakers tried to tie Cuccinelli, a conservative who is the Virginia attorney general and an opponent of abortion, to the Tea Party movement by pointing out he had Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz, a senator from Texas, speak at an event for him two weeks ago.

"He refused to speak out and tell Ted Cruz to stop the government shutdown, stop hurting Virginia families," said Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, himself a former governor. "He stood with the Tea Party and not with Virginia families."

They weren’t “hit particularly hard” — they got extra paid vacation days. They didn’t even miss a paycheck.

By now, they should be thanking the Tea Party for the paid time off from work they had.

Of course, they are liars. I mean, Ken didn’t even support the shutdown. Not that truth really matters to liberals. Keep your Insurance!!!

The Jug-eared Lying Marxist finally said something intelligent and true.

Did they get the vote fraud under control there? If they ignored it I would not be holding my breath.

Obama = ObamaCare (Cuccinelli makes election into ObamaCare Referendum)

Cucinelli = Tea Party (McAuliffe makes election into Tea Party Referenum)

Who wins?

ObamaCare is having current real world effects on the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Tea Party are those people we aren't supposed to like.

I say Cucinelli wins the referendum campaign.

With a crook like Terry McAwful, the only hope he has is to go negative.

Look, folks in Virginia....If POTUS Obama, Terry MacAuliffe, Senator John Warner, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Michelle Obama and scores of other out-of-state Democrat Obamabots could only muster “about “1600” people to attend the last major political rally for “dirt bag” Democrat, Terry MacAuliffe, things are not boding well for “shyster” MacAuliffe in his race for governor!!!

First, Obama’s magic is gone...he cannot gather more then a High School Gym full of “deadbeat” followers...and dumb ones at that.

But...having stated that........KC can win the race against the strong odds that he will lose the race to MacAuliffe. The Obamabot media is running at feverish pace to depress the “conservative vote” turnout on this coming Tuesday, Election Day!!! TURNOUT is the key!!!

If Steve Lonegan in New Jersey had gotten just eight more votes per voting precinct ...he would have beaten Cory Booker for the US Senate seat. On this very site, where you would think the drive to get out to vote is overpowering, you see high numbers of supposed, conservative people in “our” camp quitting before they even fired the first shot!!! You can almost hear them saying.....oh....my vote won’t count...it won’t make a difference!!! Well....it does make a difference....a big difference.

I will not request that our team get out and vote come Tuesday....I am demanding it. I don’t care of you like it or not, action wins battles whether in war, love, business, sports or politics. I am sick of hearing....”Oh....if just a few more of our voters turned out....we would have won!!!

So......Virginia get off your lazy butts, do the right thing, hound your family, your friends, your neighbors, your kindred spirits, your fellow bloggers, those on Facebook, Twitter, etc., those that have been screwed by Obamacare, the IRS, the military folks, etc. You go and vote, then man the phones, drive the cars to the polls for older folks....just never give up until every possible vote for KC has actuallly been cast!!! Hound “our” talk radio folks, FNC, our blogs, our websites, etc., to help us get out the vote during every minute of Monday/Tuesday!!! This, friends is plain & simple a “TURNOUT ELECTION”!!! For Goodness Sake....TURNOUT & VOTE FOR KC!!!! Do it....and we win!!!

Its rather stupid for Obama to continually bash Tea party activists with the IRS scandal hanging over his head.<<<

Ohhh..That's old news...besides.....What difference does it make now......../s

Folks you have got to be kidding if you think VA will vote for KC (I’d love it but...). Look at Obama’s poll numbers. Yes, he is down by -13 or something and the health care roll out is a disaster. He should be down by - 30 or more and there should be riots in the street demanding he resign. It’s not happening - and we all know why. It’s because he is loved. Too many takers and too many God less in the once good ole USA. After the financial collapse of 2015 there will be no more elections but lots more government. We are about to become Cuba and the majority of Americans are loving it. They are sowing the seeds of their (and our) destruction. It’s hard to believe but here it is.

Probably no state fooled Obama more than VA in recent years, as it turns again hard left. He probably thought he would lost it both times, but he didn’t understand Virginians much better than Thomas Jefferson did.

I hadn’t heard that ol’ John Warner had endorsed McAwful but would expect him to. You may mean his heir, the unrelated Mark Warner.
