Six on one, and stealing his phone and neck-chain? I’m still reading through the stories to see where there was racial abuse. It wasn’t in the linked article.
This incident happened some weeks ago, and the UK news reports reported that the cop racially insulted the Fijian soldiers. All the six stated, and allegedly witnesses confirmed, that Detective Dickhead started shouting racial slurs.
As to six on one, hey if you think you’re a hard man and want to go up against six Fijians and British soldiers, sorry no f*cking sympathy. And I’d say the same if he’d got a kicking from USMC, US Army, Air Force, Nat Guard.....sorry I have no sympathy for Det. Tough Guy.

The theft was out of order though, and I am not condoning what they did, I said that, I said they have to be punished, I just don’t have any sympathy for a pseudo-tough guy that shouted his mouth off and found he wasn’t as tough as he thought.
I guess you’ve been reading more of a story than the one linked to here. One mouthy violent drunk insults another violent drunk and the results are generally predictable. But six on one is hard to see as something he asked for, from what I’ve read. And I’m from a time and place where assaulting someone for calling you a bad name was, wait for it, assault. The Fijians I’ve met have seemed like the type of people cool enough to let insults slide off them, including racial ones. Maybe it’s the drink and the culture of their regiment.
