Both sides are wrong. The students want to be totalitarians by controlling free speech. The NYC political establishment is no friend of civil rights. As far as I’m concerned, NYC establishment vs lefitst student drones goes, they can spend their time fighting and destroying each other.

Camp Bruno! Jabberwocky lives ....

The leftists practiced effective community organizing tactics. They received their training at ... Brown University!

This is a comedy. Sad, but a comedy.

There is a strong totalitarian streak in liberalism.

Streak? Totalitarianism is the whole of leftism. The term was invented by Mussolini, who patterned his Fascist philosophy in part on Woodrow Wilson's semi-authoritarian regime. Whether they admit it or not (and they don't, in public), our home-grown leftists really do desire a totalitarian state, with themselves in charge of course.

Why weren’t the hippies forcibly ejected by university police for disrupting the presentation? Why weren’t they placed on probation and threatened with expulsion?

I am no fan of "stop and frisk." Yet the beneficial effects of the procedure are undeniable. That means there needs to be discussion and debate about this, which is the real principle Brown's students violated.

The reality is that an amoral social upbringing has, as a necessary consequence, either upheaval or tyranny. The students at Brown would then have to confront the almost mechanical consequences of the mores they tend to favor.

Very well said, also there was a report the other day that Zero was heckled by a group the other day who are against the pipeline coming down from Canada. As if the Resident of the Spite House is for it. He has delayed already, I don’t know how many times. It shows you how ignorant these lunatics are

Hollyweird libtard Sean Penn says Comrade Party Secretary should issue executive order sending all ocnservatives to mental hospitals. Just like Soviet Union! Now how many of the apparatchiks are reading the works of Comrade Andropov?

“More than 600 students and multiple professors and administrators gathered Wednesday night in Alumnae Hall for an open forum addressing issues surrounding free speech and race on campus and the cancellation of New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly’s lecture Tuesday.”

Since they gave Al $harpton a forum for his views years ago (and referred to him as “reverend”) I haven’t watched. They are centrist at best.

Obamunism can only grow by threats and intimidation. Americans need to stand up to them.

The left doesn’t give conservatives a forum for their views, and right shouldn’t accomodate the leftists that fall out of favor with the Dems.

No, I’m saying that the “mainstream media” already gives plenty of air-time to the lib point of view, so it isn’t necessary for Fox News to do so (unless, of course, they aren’t conservative)...

"With DeBlasio about to become mayor of NYC, I hope that Kelly resigns before he is sworn in..."

I would be pleasantly surprised if he does. In reality, I expect him to be a "just following orders" kind of guy. His pay check will not be impacted if the crime rate goes up or down. He and his immediate family will be protected from violent crime that only hits, "the little people," and he can always manipulate the statistics to show he's doing a heck of a job. Why leave a cushy gig like that when you can shoot down airplanes?

About the only think that would get Kelly fired is if a member of the DiBlasio family gets victimized by violent crime and Kelly has the taxpayer funded resources to virtually assure that ain't going to happen.

DeBlasio has said that he doesn’t want to keep Kelly as PC..Also, the anti-”stop and frisk” crowd used that as the reason for disqualifying Kelly for the DHS post. Now we get a hack lawyer. Kelly should publicly resign the day after the election..
