Skip to comments.Paul: NSA ‘Could Be Spying’ on Obama

In light of a recent report, Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) fears the National Security Agency may be spying on President Barack Obama. They could well be spying on the president, for all I know, Paul says, in an interview with National Review Online. He has a cell phone, and, in fact, my guess is that they have collected data on the presidents phone.
Paul also believes the federal government may be tracking Pope Francis. The most important question we need to ask the NSA is, Are you telling us youre collecting no data on the pope? And, Did you collect any information on him when he was the archbishop, while staying in a certain residence in Rome at the time of the election? I dont think theyre telling the truth.
Earlier today, Paul introduced a Senate resolution, calling for the president to address the story published Wednesday by Panorama, an Italian magazine.
Panorama claims the NSA eavesdropped on millions of Italian calls, including calls made by cardinals during the conclave. The NSA has denied the allegation, and a papal spokesman said the Vatican is not aware of any such activity, and has no concerns.
Paul, however, remains skeptical of the NSAs denial. I think theyre spying on every American, he says. Its alarming and inexcusable if were spying on religious leaders around the world.

Well at least they’d finally be doing their job which is to monitor the activities of this nation’s foreign enemies.
Secretly OCCUPIED country...
Post of the night!
Heh heh heh, Paul is trying to make Obama turn on the NSA, I like it!
Maybe the NSA can find his birth certificate, where he went to college, and who paid for it.
The NSA is supposed to spy on our enemies. Maybe they’re compiling info on the evil bastard.
Zero’s blackberry was always a security risk.
nice someones got to draw fire
BREAKING......NSA reveals numerous stroke discrepancies on Obamas scorecards...... cheating scandal could bring president down!
Since Clown Prince nobama “doesn’t know” about anything HIS administration is doing, NSA could be doing anything...and he wouldn’t know. Liars and others with challenged (or nonexistent) integrity permeat this administration.
I hope they are.
As well as every other intelligence agency in the world.
They encrypted his Blackberry, so, yeah they probably have a nice fat data file on him.
I’m sure this is all known and kept in several stashes. The history and legacy of this bunch of traitors should be very embarrassing. Unfortunately libs can’t be embarrassed or wrong. If not scum then sludge per septic tank lingo.
Obama’s smart phone is hack-proof, unless the actual silicon has back doors.
I speculate that smart phones in use by high government officials have firmware that enables hard encryption. They are very probably compatible with the Fortezza encrypted phones that are in wide government use.
To alter the firmware of the smart phones requires the source code... this means that manufacturers of these phones have turned over the source to the NSA. I seriously doubt that anyone else has been allowed to see the source code. If other governments had the source then NSA could not spy on their phones.
I’d love to have the source for the ARM SOCs in these phones. You could do amazing things. Operate out-of-band. Enable hard encryption, and have all manner of delicious fun. It would in fact be very possible to enable a smart-phone to operate outside the normal frequency ranges and make calls using several different satellite systems. (My guess is this is enabled in gov smart phones)
They have known all that from the days he was an Illinois senator.
