Every day,it seems, more people who have been screaming their hatred for those who predicted all we see coming true are admitting what we have known all along. The president is incapable of telling a truth,and what conservatives have been predicting for three years about ObamaCare has been entirely correct. Indeed,we haven't seen anything close to the worst of what is to come,since the system hasn't even begun to function in its utmost state of disarray and confusion. We've seen a website and estimates of premium and deductible figures which have been panic-inducing all on their own. There is not one single fact about this monstrosity that has been truly presented by the president,and his law,its destruction of lives and fortunes,and the pattern of fraud that have accompanied it rest solely and squarely on the DemocraticParty. They did this to the United States of America and they did it on purpose....

We now have a teachable moment. A window has opened for many who have been lifelong Democrats to see what they have been suckered into doing to themselves and their fellow citizens,and for whom. Perhaps they possess enough remnants of objectivity,and a long enough memory,to recognize in hindsight the purposeful falsity of the vicious and very personal attacks they saw,and possibly cheered,from their own party representatives during the recent government shutdown,and for years before that. Maybe there is enough intellectual honesty left in some of them to finally understand the extent to which they are misled,misinformed,manipulated,and misrepresented by those who pretend to stand for anything constructive or beneficial to their country or its future. The very same people angrily uttering those lies proudly voted to impose ObamaCare upon them,along with financial hardship and the loss of health insurance. Pathological liars are not especially selective. They lie about everything to everyone......

That is both the ethical core and psychological heart of what it means to be a part of the left. That is where the gratification comes from. To see yourself as a redeemer. To feel anointed. To be among the elect. In other words: To be progressive is itself the most satisfying narcissism of all.

That is why it is of little concern to them that their socialist schemes have run aground, burying millions of human beings in the process. That is why they don’t care that their panaceas have caused more human suffering than any injustice they have ever challenged. That is why they never learn from their “mistakes,” why the continuance of Them is more important than any truth.

If you were active in the so-called “peace” movement or in the radical wing of the civil rights causes, why would you tell the truth? Why would you concede – even long afterwards — that no, you were never really a “peace activist,” except in the sense that you were against America’s war. Why would you draw attention to the fact that you didn’t oppose the Communists’ war, and were happy when America’s enemies won?

What you were really against was not war, but American “imperialism” and American capitalism. What you truly hated was America’s democracy, which you knew to be a “sham” because it was controlled by money in the end. That’s why you wanted to “Bring The Troops Home.” Because if America’s troops came home, America would lose and the Communists would win. And the progressive future would be another step closer.

But you never had the honesty – then or now — to admit that. You told the lie then to gain influence and increase your power to do good (as only the Chosen can). And you keep on telling the lie for the same reason..............................”

The author makes some good points, but this could have been a better column if the author had spent more time on his sentence construction. There are several sentences that were long and contorted; they just made my head spin. I actually couldn’t finish the article because of it.

One thing I’ve noticed about the internet: Writers of blogs do not feel obligated to proofread or rework their product. It’s straight from the keyboard to the web site. It’s all about speed and laziness.

Why, if you were one of them, for example, would you tell the truth? That reminds me of a Star Trek episode (Voyager, I think), where the ship visited a planet where colonists had crash landed, destroying their starship. As a result, the colonists were forced to live a primitive lifestyle, plowing by hand and so forth. As the episode unfolds, we learn that the starship really was not destroyed, but that the colonist's leader had lied to the colonists to force them to live primitively. The colonists, upon learning of the deception, reflected for a minute and then one of them said that living like primitives actually hasn't been that bad, and they all happily went back to washing clothes by hand.

That particular episode told me a lot about the mindset of its writer. Real people would have lynched that leader for lying to them and forcing them to live without their washers and dryers, tractors, electric saws, etc. But in the fictional world, they were okay with being lied to, and realized that it really had been for their own good. Clearly, the writers of that episode were exactly the kind of person David Horowitz described in the article you linked in this post.

LOL, I tend to write like that. It happens when you have a multi-component thought in your head that you want to convey to the reader exactly the way you think it. Thoughts are three dimensional entities, but the written word only has two dimensions.

I agree with you about the sentence construction. Its a wonderful article — one i enjoyed reading — but it could have been so much better. Simple sentences are always better, especially with an article of this type that needs to be seen by the brainwashed masses. It’s too complex at times, which means the idealogical-based leftists who see this will never finish reading it — they’ll just give up reading and project their emotional/political rigidity onto the author.

One other thing... I wish the author had made a distinction between the Malicious Marxists who are running the country, and the liberals and centrists who still vote Democrat because they blindly think their Party is what it was when their parents were blue-dog Dems. I have many of these in my life, but this article cannot be used as a gentle eye-opener. If the author had made this distinction, while still making the same points (and using less complex sentences), it would be more useful. It could be used for posting on social media as remedial education for the “American-Idol-is-my-life” cohort who are helping the Marxists destroy our country.

Other than that, I got a lot of satisfaction from reading this. I’m sure the author got even more satisfaction from writing it.
