California resident: ‘I was all for Obamacare’ until I got the bill
The Washington Times ^ | October 28, 2013 | Cheryl K. Chumley

California residents are rebelling a bit against Obamacare, with thousands shocked by the sticker price and rethinking their support, saying that what seemed wonderful in principle is not translating so well into reality.

As Pam Kehaly, the president of Anthem Blue Cross in California, reported, she received a letter from one woman who saw her insurance rates rise by 50 percent due to Obamacare.

“She said, ‘I was all for Obamacare until I found out I was paying for it,’ ” Ms. Kehaly said, in the Los Angeles Times.

Several hundred thousand other Californians in coming weeks may be feeling the same pinch, as insurers drop their plans and push them onto exchanges, medical analysts say. Blue Shield of California sent letters to 119,000 residents last month announcing the plans don’t meet federal mandates.

Kaiser Permanente, meanwhile, is canceling about 160,000 of its customers’ plans — about half of its base, the Los Angeles Times said. A majority of those who are being booted off their plans will face a rate increase from Obamacare.

“This is when the actualy sticker shock comes into play for people,” said Gerald Kominski, director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, in the Los Angeles Times. “There are winners and losers under the Affordable Care Act.”

Jennifer Harris, Fullerton resident, said she was shocked to receive a letter from her Health Net Inc. insurer that her plan — which costs $98 a month — was being dropped. The cheapest plan she said in the Los Angeles Times that she found is $238 a month....

The problem with Marxism is someone has to pay for it and it usually ends up being you.

I will be shocked if the Democrats lose big in 2014, even with this Train Wreck front and center. My faith in the Electorate is still at a low ebb.

I agree.

There is one thing doctors reject and refuse to do more than administration and are equally as bad or worse at is that they LOATHE being told what to do and, more so, how to do it.

They won’t stand for it.

After going through 10 years of rigorous schooling and training and spending or borrowing tens of thousands of dollars to do it I wouldn't stand for it either. Who would?

When will we ever see justice? Don’t theses Obama voters Owe us retribution? Shoulden’t Obama voters be forced to pick up the tab for our exploding bills?

Nope they won’t put up with it. My father was a family practice GP who passed in ‘86. About six years before that he told me “socialized medicine will destroy medicine.” He saw it coming then and knew what it meant.

How about forfeiture of all assets, revocation of citizenship, and a one-way ticket to Abu Dhabi?

Americans are independent thinkers and socialized medicine will not work here.

MDs won’t sign up for it, patients won’t know what to do with it.

King BO can lecture all day long, but the payers will never get the whole pay for the free stuff people. It is a system that will not thrive here.

The Germans are go along and their government is efficient.

Anyone pretending that our government can act efficiently with this system is not paying attention. This group is so corrupt it can’t hire competent, ethical workers.

BO will be frustrated. It will not work here. He doesn’t know that, having grown up in Indonesia and thinking there are 57 states. Wonder if he’s been properly corrected on that yet.

I think so. Five years ago I knew it was bound to fail but this last month has exceeded all of my wildest expectations of how badly it would stink.

Well said and I agree 100%. I have to wonder if one single doctor is ready to implement the 1.8 million and growing words of the 0bamaCare regulations? Even a group practice would have to spend more on accountants and business analysts to set it up than they make in a year.

Another question that is bound to come up in the next few months; How many doctors are signed up to be part of the 0bamaCare network? I read yesterday that 0bamaCare plans are only good with doctors in the network.

It’s hell being a low information voter.

Sounds like Patti Davis (Reagan’s daughter) is also low information. She removed her tweet asking why she and others are losing their health care after receiving many answers from Reagan lovers.
