Congresswoman and Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz told the 650 Democrats at the dinner that Scott was the worst governor in Florida history. She then paused and said he was the worst governor in the nation's history.

"I trust Rick Scott to lead this state as much as I trust Ted Cruz to read bedtime stories to my daughter," said Wasserman Schultz, referring to the Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, reading Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham" during a filibuster earlier this month.

What does she think Senator Cruz would do to her Children, educate them on the Evils of Fascism?

“I blame the midwestern elderly that move there during retirement. They bring their bad habits with them.”

I think it’s more the northeasterners moving there that is screwing up a once great state. You can’t walk three feet in any direction without running into someone from NY or NJ.

Thanks to Lancey @ #23, I no longer have any idea what this thread is about.

Yes, but aren’t the communists right about Scott being a very bad governor?

I won't hold going after Zimmerman against him and THAT making him a bad governor. I was born and raised here in Florida and remember the era when all we ever had was Democrats as Governor. When the state was about as antigun as New York and when the tax climate and regulations for running a business here was very bad.

In that arena Scott has been spectacular. He has brought a lot of business to the state and he has led the way on deregulation. That brings more jobs. He is also very pro-gun and you can take that to the bank. He just signed a slate of laws designed to nullify any federal gun grabs. I don't want to get into a Zimmerman fracas on this thread (or ever) butI don't hold it against Scott for that, nor against Pam Biondi, either. She's been an excellent State AG.

Scott has been the 1st Republican Governor.

Scott was by no means the FIRST Republican Governor of Florida! We had Bob Martinez and Jeb Bush before him. I won't count Charlie Crist in that group but he was pretty pro-gun, too.

"...You can’t walk three feet in any direction without running into someone from NY or NJ..."

Isn't that the truth; however, in SE Florida, I walk into foreigners—most speaking Spanish (only) to their kids. My old South Miami neighborhood is all Spanish.

In rural Central Florida, those from the Midwest seem to be retired Veterans moving to mobile / modular homes.

I spoke with former Florida Republican Governor Claude Kirk on campus. Thoughtful guy.

There wouldn’t be so many Democrats in Congress from Florida if the New Yorkers wouldn’t vote in both places.

She’s thinking of Crist.

Now he’s a waste of space.

You have to give it to the bastards, they never give up. After having lost up there, they come back fighting.

Were the situation reversed, the GOP would be tearing itself apart, questioning its goals and wearing sackcloth and ashes.

I wish the carpet bagger could just piss off back to where she came from or at least her voters got a brain and voted her out.
