According to one of the claimants in the article:

............At first glance, Nicole and Steve Chati’s one-story house in Staten Island’s New Dorp Beach looks unscathed. But a rotten foundation makes it a total loss.............

That didn’t rot because of Sandy. That was rotten for years!

Why should this A-hole get a penny of federal or state aid for his rotted foundation?

I overheard a whole group of teachers this past week in the teachers’ lounge discussing the rebuilding of their Sandy-destroyed homes. It seems that they have not been receiving the Federal or insurance funds to which they were entitled, and so the rebuilding of their homes is quite delayed. Also, the contractors hired by the government are not showing up or are working at a snail’s pace. Many of the teachers are still living in rentals.
